Cats were extremely lucky to get a point. I thought Riopel had another great game. I agree Lessard was probably one of best Cats out there tonight. Refs were horrible on both sides, game had no flow at all... Gotta love Beaulieu & Sparling at the end of the game, a great example for the younger players... How were the Cats lucky? They ouplayed SJ the first 40 minutes but Mayer made numerous key saves to keep them in it. I thought the Cats could have easily been up by 2 going into the 3rd. SJ's first 2 goals both came after the puck bounced to a wide open SJ player. Talent/experience wise SJ has an edge, but I think the Cats are a harder and more disciplined team, should make for an interesting season series. If Beaulieu does not right the ship I think SJ could be this year's Halifax, they seem to have a lot of players taking dumb penalities.

I completly agree.. it was really horrible.. and also way too obvious. The refs did notice a few of the checking from behind but let way too many go "unseen". It was just cheap shot after cheap shot.. and alot of thoses checking from behind/boardings could have easily past for intent to injure.. there was one on Matt Eagles (the one called actually.. i think the 5 min major) was just horrible, Eagles was lucky not to have gotten hurt on that one. Lane didn't make it past the middle of the 1st period. Boyle did an excellent job on Thomas in the 3rd. A little too late to start policing. The only policing that sticks is making them pay on the PP.

I was not too impressed with the Seadogs, I am not talking talent wise as they have the makings of a very talented team but, the way they play, all the checking from behind and that kneeing penalty, they are nothing more than a bunch of cheap shot players. You can thank Gilles Courteau for this type of play, nobody has to pay the price for any cheap shots unless they are willing to sit out multiple games due to suspension.

The only policing that sticks is making them pay on the PP. Sounds like Kenny Holland's theory which is sickening although they won one championship. I rather have a team stand up for each other then go home frustrated most nights after seeing liberties taken on the star players. Euro hockey is truly boring to watch.........................

Over all not a great game to watch, but every one knew at some point in time the Cats would have one of those so so games, it was bound to happen. Got love that Mike Thomas when Lane wanted to go. he wanted nothing to do with Lane, but when Lane was not on the ice he would then start to yap, lots of cheap shots from the Sea Dogs There a class act when they scored and overtime goal it looked like a bunch of kids leaving the ice.

Yeah because the Sea Dogs get to pick who refs their games. Also explaining why each team had 8 powerplays. Also look at where the other ref is from. Nice try. This was a terribly officated game though all around. Either way all Wildcats vs. Sea Dogs games should be great to watch this year.

Moncton would have had a lot more powerplays if they would have called half of the cheap shots that st-john gave. Dupuis on one end that called some and the other idiot that did not see anything from his end is what I am saying. He only wore those stripes cause they match his hair. Check the link that I posted and you will see that he is only referred to as a linesman in the league.

Were we at the same game. Wildcat players spend more time on the ice than a zamboni does. The man behind the Sea Dogs bench was a 50 something year old idiot. The kids are teenagers and trying to pick a fight with them, real class. The only reason why the Wildcats got a point tonight was because of a stupid call on Sparling with 3 minutes left.

You are oversimplifying it, there are numerous reasons why they got a point...and a few why they didn't get 2.

If the man behind the bench you are referring to is the Saint John coach, I TOTALLY agree. What an Idiot
