Word at the rink (aka garbage) was that he was less than impressed with his opportunities to prove his worth Friday night, including his time on special teams. Made his feelings knoiwn in a less than professional way... and consequently was sent home. Sounds reasonable, otherwise, why not keep him until the 22nd, and keep the competition for that 20 year old spot alive.

I wonder how long Lahey will stay here. I don't think he'd be too thrilled playing 10 shifts or less per game and on 4th line. Although Friday Night he played on 2nd line with No PP time. Wonder if Cats are looking to upgrade 20's...

I would switch Lahey on the PP for the other 20yr old that is presently playing on it now. Could not do ANY WORST!!!

i think sendig Jesse home is bad message to the rest of the team.Obviously Jesse worked very hard over the summer to come to camp in great shape. When a player does exactly what you ask and still gets sent home how would that motivate players to work harder. Given 1 exhibition game and 1 reg season game is not alot of time to show what you can do. I think Danny was frustrated with the OT loss and took it out on jesse. This is a case where having a seperate GM and Coach would have talked it over and done what is best for the team. Sending Jesse home does nothing to improve this team. I wish Jesse the best of luck.

Actually, he played three regular season games....the first two of the season plus Friday night....but I get your point. That being said, I think there is more to it than on-ice performance in regards to why he was sent packing. Otherwise, I am sure that Flynn would have given him an opportunity to earn a spot as one of the 20s.

what message would that be ? Work your nuts off all summer come to camp 20 lbs lighter but piss me (danny) off once and you get sent home. Was this move better for the time or a frustrtion reaction.AS far as trading him now you have lowered his value . Teams will question why he was sent home. For of all the good moves that Danny has made he should regret this one.

All we can assume is that Biduke did or said something off-ice that was completely unacceptable to Flynn. I don't think it had anything to do with his in-game performance thus far or his conditioning.....it was likely the result of an unexpected incident. We probably won't know exactly what happened, we should move on as I'm sure the team is doing.
I don't think Lahey was, at the time, brought in as a Biduke replacement....he was simply given the chance to show what he can do while Biduke/Sill get healthy. So, can Biduke be traded for anyone, or only other 20 year olds or draft picks? Maybe someone can clarify how that works considering the regular trading window is closed.

At this point Biduke has to either fetch us another 20(which I highly doubt) or a draft pick. We could then send that draft pick at Christmas somewhere to get a roster player or prospect.

... I don't think Lahey was, at the time, brought in as a Biduke replacement.... That is not how I would have interpreted the situation if I had been Biduke. He certainly would not have been looked at as an Eagles or Sill replacement, and that leaves us with only Biduke. Maybe the pressure got to Biduke, and having worked as hard as he did in the off season, I can understand his frustration when Lahey was brought in, and now that he has been sent home. As you also stated, we may never know exactly what happened, but with Sill's return only set for the 22nd, we can only speculate that it had to have been something the coach deemed unacceptable. Otherwise, as I have already stated, it would have been in the teams best interest, both game and trade wise, to have kept him competing with Lahey for a 20 year old spot on the ice. Flynn would not send him home, knowing it would decrease his value, unless he felt his presence was detrimental to the team.

So how could you say "he should regret this one". This is not about pissing someone off once. Like usual talk around the rink is like the old circle story...start with the truth and end up with some story that really doesn't resemble the truth. Did it ever cross your mind that it's professional to not disclose the reason for shipping someone out. If you knew the truth you wouldn't be posting your comments.
