Barberio 2nd best player, Sill third best player.
Flynn needs to change up the poweplay...would move out Cameron and Gormley and insert Stephens/Famin/Lahey and Savard on defence with Baberio. I don't think Gormley is ready for 1st powerplay time at 16.

Barberio has to be the second best.

I don't think Gormley is ready for 1st powerplay time at 16. At least Gormley is an offensive d-man, Savard is a stay at home, he's on the 2nd pair at best. Barberio is our best d-man but Eagles has made a bigger impact so far this year. Sill works hard but he doesn't have the skills to make the impact Eagles does, both offensively and on PK.

I think Brannon and Stephens made bigger impacts than Eagles so far this year. Eagles has been a disapointment for a 20yr old so far.

I don't think Gormley is ready for 1st powerplay time at 16. Disagree... I feel the very best thing Flynn could do would be to have Gormley out there with Barberio. If you're going to learn how to QB the PP, it's best to learn from the guy doing it now. This isn't a go for it year... just an unexpectedly fast start. As for those crapping on Eagles... I look at Eagles and the first thing I think is "Why is he not playing up the middle"? Currently, he is on a line in which he's on the right side, Brown is on the left and Cameron is at center. IMO, the only thing keeping Cameron at center on that line is his faceoff abilities. He does not have soft hands and is not capable of playing in traffic. Very hard to play up the middle when you can't move the puck, pass the puck or accept a hard pass. Eagles should be centering that line... and perhaps put Lessard (or Stephens... or even Famin) along the boards with Cameron centering line #2 (he's not a 1st line center anyway) with some sort of swing play in place... but my point is, Eagles is an up the middle player playing predominatly along the boards... and though skilled enough to do this, he doesn't reach his full potential by not being in more open ice situations. Matt Eagles has shown for the past four seasons that he is more than capable of working his way through traffic, can dish the puck off and can finish in close. He's no superstar by any means... but he's earned virtually every point he's accumulated in this league... and that's why he wears the "C". As for him going down on his knees... how many times does that draw a penalty because he keeps moving his feet and legs? Once again, I wouldn't bring it up if I haven't been watching it for going on four years with my own eyes. And if you think Matt Eagles is the primary issue with our #1PP... you aren't paying enough attention to Randy Cameron... or the fact that the #2 unit (which has at least one or two players on it that should not be there) is seemingly getting more ice than the first unit.

I think Brannon and Stephens made bigger impacts than Eagles so far this year. Eagles has been a disapointment for a 20yr old so far. He's leading the team in scoring and is playing at almost a 1.5 PPG clip early on... all the while captaining the team. What a piece of crap he is.

I think Brannon and Stephens made bigger impacts than Eagles so far this year. Eagles has been a disapointment for a 20yr old so far. You name two very intertesting players in Brown and Stephens. It's great that they have both stepped up this year and the Cats are benefitting from it. But both of these guys still have a lot to learn as they don't compete hard every shift ... they take about 2 shifts off every 5. They should look to the team Captain and learn from him how to compete every shift ... and then maybe they would become better than Eagles. Brannon fools everybody with his big hits and decent scoring so far ... that stuff creates hype for him ... but he doesn't give that every shift. I'm not taking anything away from him as I am very pleased by the way he has stepped up and become a key player. But I think he can give a lot more and take his game to another level. Stephens ... still soft on the puck and needs to add more muscle but that will come ... he has taken great leaps forward from last year ... but again lacks a bit in work ethic ... and hockey smarts. He could be a very dominant player if he could physically stronger. Eagles comes to play everynight ... our best playmaker (Bissonnette will be better) ... and competes for every inch of ice out there ... every damn shift. He has solid offensive skills and is a dangerous player around the net. He brings me to my feet when he beats Dmen down low off the rush and cuts to the front of the net ... not many small players have the balls to do that. he doesn't possess a big shot and scores all of his goals in close ... and so I agree with Sec21Critic that he would make a better center .. and Cameron a better winger (I told Sec21Critic that actually ... so he is agreeing with me ... he uses a lot of my stuff and tries to pass it off as his own ... )) Eagles is off to a very good start to the season ... on pace for 80 - 90 pts ... more than you could ask for from him. While doing all that offensive work he is also a key part of a strong PK and defensive team ... and he leads the team. Matt Eagles is one of the better 20 YO forwards in the Q ... because he is a well rounded player ... and a great teammate. I wouldn't be surprised to hear strong offers come in for him during the trading period. I'd rather keep him unless it involved an elite young player ... we don't really need anymore picks although they are always useful in other trades. Any trade for Eagles should be a Marquardt-esque return ... because he is worth too much to us to give him away for a small return. Plus ... you should never trade your Captian ... unless you are giving up on the season.

It's embarassing to even have him on the team, a legit 20 year old would have stopped 42 shots, scored 3 goals and beat the other teams' tough guy...then drove the team bus to Chicoutimi

I'd say he's close to getting cut by now.

i think sendig Jesse home is bad message to the rest of the team.Obviously Jesse worked very hard over the summer to come to camp in great shape. When a player does exactly what you ask and still gets sent home how would that motivate players to work harder. Given 1 exhibition game and 1 reg season game is not alot of time to show what you can do. I think Danny was frustrated with the OT loss and took it out on jesse. This is a case where having a seperate GM and Coach would have talked it over and done what is best for the team. Sending Jesse home does nothing to improve this team. I wish Jesse the best of luck. I agree. Players have an (unfounded) impression of the coach as "someone who is looking out for us". Sending a 20 y.o. home that is playing well and worked hard thru the summer to come back as a 20 certainly shatters THAT illusion. They all start thinking, what about ME as a 20 next year?....Start doing what their agent wants and ignoring the coach...start playing for themselves instead of for the team....

Jesse isn't the first and won't be the last twenty year old, to work hard all summer and eventually get cut loose. (and yes, he did prove his dedication to making the team by coming back in great shape) When anyone thinks they are guaranteed a 20 year old spot on a rebuilding club in junior, I think we are talking more about fantasy than shattered illusions. As a matter of fact, you can work so hard all summer, improve so much, that you work your way straight out of town..... for draft picks and young prospects.

Moncton is not a rebuilding club, they are already rebuilt.
