lol again with the all-knowing Flynn comment... I am a fan of having a tough guy on the bench, even if he's a limited skilled 4th liner, for many reasons you mention (although I think you give his presence a bit too much weight considering he doesnt play a regular shift, hit etc). I am just saying you are arguing all the great things his presence does, but then turn around and say if he gets a suspension and/or misses a few games, its no loss. He played about 10-12 shifts vs Halifax the other night ... more than Alex MacDonald had for Halifax ... us Moncton fans were hoping to see more of macDonald. As Lane improves his conditioning and skill level he will get more icetime ... but will always be a 4th liner and the forward with least minutes played. Ok...? just answer the question then... is his presence missed when he isnt in the lineup, or isn't it? Because you are walking along the fence on this one.

I'm not disputing the presence of an enforcer, I'm disputing the presence of a goon who does nothing else. Very rare to find a goon on an NHL team these days that provides nothing else. Lane is a liability in other areas of the game. And, if the counter is that he isn't a liability only playing 2 minutes a game, his liability is that he is taking a roster spot from other players (Roski). At no point did I suggest Flynn doesn't know what he's doing. I'm just second guessing and adding to the discussion. You know... the point of a message board. Sheesh. People on this board are awfully negative. Not regarding the team, but toward other posters. All I did was join the discussion and AceKikr and SteveUL go on the offensive. At least be respectful and engage in intelligent conversation and not just act like a sarcastic jerk. C'mon people. Negative ? Respectful ? You call Jordan Lane a bum and then you get a little whiney because people challenge you on that ? You get treated with respect when you earn that ... all you have earned is ridicule for the posts you have made so far. Feel free to have the opinion that Lane isn't working out ... I have the opinion that he is working just fine ... we are both allowed to have our opinions ... and allowed to express them ... but be respectful to the players that are pouring their hearts out out there and in practice to try to improve. Lane knows his role and he seems to accept it willingly ... one of the toughest roles in all of sports. Just remember the late John Kordic and the late Trevor Ettinger and you'll know how tough a role it is being a hockey enforcer. I called Jordan Lane a bum, ridiculing him, not other posters. By "bum" I meant regarding his hockey skills, to be specific, lol. If a person has an opinion they should be permitted to discuss it in a rational way without being jumped on. Why does someone have to earn respect on a message board? I've been reading this board for quite some time, but I post very rarely. But, Lane's inclusion on this team is something I strongly disagree with, and felt like discussing. I guess it's not a knock on Lane, it's not his fault he's on the team. I'm not saying I should be GM or coach of the team, I'm just second-guessing their decision. Certainly, as you pointed out, the role of an enforcer is a tough one. Not sure why you linked that with two deaths of two enforcers though. That's like a pizza delivery boy dying and suggesting the reason he died was because being a pizza delivery boy was so tough. Anyway, I am done with the silly bickering and whatnot. It's all good. Bottom line is, Go Cats Go.

Feel free to debate them ... but please don't whine when somebody disagrees with you. You called Jordan Lane a bum and that goas against the rules of the board ... so if you get grief for that too bad. We aren't here to call the players derogatory names.

Good call on me calling Lane a bum. I meant his hockey skills, but I shouldn't have said it in that way if it's against the rules of the board. My bad. Apologies. I said I was done with this thing, but you accused me of infringing on your rights to express your opinion. I said my opinion, you said yours. That is fine. Nowhere did I infringe on your right to counter my opinion. ("You're right, Flynn doesn't know what he's doing".) What I didn't like was the way you responded to my post, so I chose to say something about it. But, by all means, say what you want for it's a free country. I'm not whining about you disagreeing with my opinion, I'm taking issue with you putting words in my mouth and responding in a manner that is childish. I was just calling for a little decency amongst the posters because this place is littered with b.s. bickering between people. I've probably only got like 20 posts or something, but I read a ton and it's ridiculous the amount of crap that comes out... Verbal wars between people and things of that nature, which I am regrettably being a part of right now. Lol, that said I'm done with this thread. The last word is yours my friend... Go ahead... Add to the earned respect that comes with your 4000+ posts, all of which I am sure are beautifully articulated and not belittling to your fellow Cats fans whatsoever.
