But like Lala said options are good. I love the way Konrad has played but who knows maybe he decides NA hockey is too hard on him.........I hope not but who knows. Next year if Knotek wants to play for us and we get some progression from our young forwards, maybe pick up a forward who can contribute at the draft. Draft an impact Euro, Corbeil continues to progress, our dee gets as good as I think it can be. Ect It is early but if everything falls in place and Knotek can put up 100+ points next year maybe we can get to the point where we win a playoff series or 2.
I love watching Knotek play but if we can find a willing trading partner who pays what he is worth, and he thinks it will help his career lets do it. If not why not roll the dice and see what will happen next year.

As good of a player as Knotek is, and what he means to this team, I really can't see any situation where he would be back as a 20yr old. It would fly in the face of everything Cam has said about rebuilding and playing young guys. It was expected Stranksy would return this year, but he didn't, and we now have Abeltshauser who we got with the 28th pick and when the organization only had a couple weeks to scout and find a kid to draft. This year we know we'll need a euro nest year, so we have all year to scout and we'll have a top 5 pick. IMO that option has more positives then keeping Knotek as a 20 under any circumstances. Agreed 100% However, what murph is saying does hold water. Say for example Knotek doesnt want to get traded and Halifax keeps him for the remainder of the season. Halifax could still draft a new euro 3rd overall and keep Knotek and Abeltshauser protected. Knotek could be an insurance policy in case that new euro doesnt report. Plus perhaps Knotek may or may not get pro offers, although this is slim, as ive heard hes received offers from pro Cze teams. But lets say he doesnt receive any. He could come back to the Q and Halifax could try and move him during camp. I guess it comes down to whether or not Knotek wants to be traded and whether or not Cam can find the right deal. Whether or not Cam can find the right deal (and Knotek gives it the ok) is exactly what it comes down to and I don't think there's pressure to accept a deal he doesn't really like. Both goalies will return. They'll probably return 5 D and have Lewis and Bishop potentially as well. And they'll probably return 8-10 forwards and have Boudreau. Add in four draft picks in the top two rounds and a very good Euro pick. Forget depth players and forget ok draft picks, options and a depth of pick/returning players allow Cam to look for the right deal and quality return.
