Hodge is reporting in this mornings T&T that Luke Adam is rumoured to be heading to CB in a trade with the Montreal Juniors. timestranscript.canadaeast.com/sports/article/687618Here is a piece of the story ... The Lewiston MAINEiacs have made three deals that will be announced when the league trade period opens on Friday morning. They're sending defenceman Garrett Clarke to the Halifax Mooseheads and goaltender Peter Delmas to the Quebec Remparts. They're also acquiring forward Stephane Fournier from the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Some other mid-season trades will be finalized this week. The Saint John Sea Dogs will acquire the rights to 20-year-old forwards Mike Hoffman from the Drummondville Voltigeurs and Nicholas Petersen from the Shawinigan Cataractes. The Chicoutimi Sagueneens are sending goaltender Francois Levesque to the Prince Edward Island Rocket. The Rimouski Oceanic are shipping forward Philippe Cornet to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. Rumour has the Montreal Juniors dealing forward Luke Adam to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.

I heard this rumor and brushed it off but I think this confirms it.
I think those who mocked me for putting us at a .500 team will be changing their tune a bit even though the price for this deal will be high....i'm hearing the price is Chouinard + our 1st pick

The team will pay at some point for not moving some assets out and stocking up on some picks and prospects but as a fan I guess we just ride the highs and hope to avoid the lows. Not a huge fan fo the cockiness of a GM who has been on the job for a year either....telling his head scout to not get used to having any high picks is the type of comment that can come back to bite you in the ass. Halifax never thought they'd pick high and it ended up costing them 2 #1 overall draft picks.

If we're only "supposed" to be an average team this year, why would we go make a 'big' trade before the season even begins? Entertain fans? Try to put a half-decent product on the ice in the hopes of another surprise season? not that I'm complaining but a bit confused at trading away high pick(s) when there's this opportunity to build for a couple years down road.

I think this deal could very well happen I know for a fact that Luke Adam wants to come back east.

I've given up trying to make any sense of what this team does. If you believe Mario he's going to have a top team forever.....I guess you can be pretty excited if you drink that kool aid but this is still the Q so that's impossible. Even with our entire D and Roy returning we're still not going to be as good as last year with a team that lost in the 2nd round. Luke Adam might replace the numbers of a Culligan, Haddad, or Slaney but he doesn't bring the other intangibles. I'll wait to see where we stand after Saturday is done but unless we're bringing over an impact 90+ point Euro then the 09-10 season will play out like most of the last few in CB....good regular season and 2nd or 3rd round playoff exit. I find it absolutely amazing that we are buying when we have exactly 1 18yr old in our lineup and lack any picks or assets to pick up any more impact veterans without absolutely gutting the team of assets.

From what's been posted here many times Mario tried acquiring Adam to a fault right up until the deadline and had zero fall back plans so when Pascal asked for the moon he couldn't do anything about it. I'm still pissed he's basically giving Pascal what he wants off our roster, even if we get a potential 40+ goal scorer in this deal.

The reason we didnt get Adam at christmas is because Vincent wanted Ellis . Pretty much every GM Mario talked too wanted Ellis involved somehow. Im glad we didnt make that deal at Christmas

Eagles gave up a little more than Chouinard and the 1st rounder. They will be sending Montreal a very good 17 year defence prospect. Details to follow.

www.capebretonpost.com/index.cfm?sid=257537&sc=146-2 or 3 players or 2 players and a pick -Offer in on Chris Doyle as well I don't think it's good that i'm more scared of what Durocher is going to do then I am excited. Are Luke Adam and Chris Doyle really the only thing missing from making us a championship team? I'm not sure how any manager in his right mind can think that
