....not to sound to negative this early, but are there any ringers playing in Quebec or Maritimes that we have a chance at with our first pick...which might be first overall? Any Briere's or PM Bouchard etc this year? Lala? anyone?

We'll need a new Euro too, Tomas is on his way out at the end of this season (if not sooner). We'd get the 3rd pick in the Euro draft with a last place finish, wouldn't we? (Behind the OHL and WHL)

To early to tell...
The group of 1994's is very deep in Quebec and seems like an above average crop in the Maritimes.

Ciampini is hands down the early candidate to be the 1st pick overall in June 2010. This kid had a Q-ready slap slot at 12 so imagine what it is like now.

Any word on where these kids are playing right now (I do recognize Bursey's name from your thread in Hockey Zone) just so we know where to follow these guys. Thanks.

Ciampini --- 3 games, 1 assist. 5'8", 165 pounds. Hodhod --- 6 games, 2 goals, 6 assists. 5'11", 187 pounds. Devon Oliver-Dares --- 4 games, 4 goals, 2 assists. 5'11", 178 pounds. Ryan --- Could not find his stats as of right now. Last season, had 7 goals, 20 assists as a 14 year old. at 6'3", 170 pounds, he was a much better player then Zach O'Brien at the Midget Atlantics. Has good hands, moves the puck well. His skating is average and needs to work on being more physical. With his upside, he could be a dominate player. He's more of a playmaker then a goal scorer. Bursey --- Ripped up the New Brunswick Bantam AAA League last year. 23 games, 56 goals, 35 assists. He will be playing at Rothesay Netherwood this season instead of Midget AAA for the SJ Vitos. Hopefully playing high school hockey hockey doesn't hurt his development.

That would mean they'd be playing the New Eng. prep schools and also some Ont. prep schools. The competition they will be playing will be better than the public high school teams in NB.

If you're looking at defenseman come June 2010, here's a couple names to watch for.
Jeremie Fraser --- Gatineau. Should be a top 5 pick in the draft but I hear he has some attitude problems. Brett Beauvais --- Attending Ridley College in St. Catherines, Ontario this year but from Summerside, PEI
Top 94 goalie for next summer's draft is Andrew Matheson out of St. John's. Great positional goalie, quick reflexes.

Hodhod is skilled but too small to go 1st overall. Andrew Ryan played for Foggies last year as a 14 year old and this year is with the Hounds in ND.

Ciampini and Hodhod are both on Chateauguay Midget AAA in Quebec, Liam O'Brien is in Shattuck i believe, Ryan in Notre Dame, Bursey in RSN, and Dares is with the Subways. I actually prefer Ryan Penny from the subways a bit more than Oliver-Dares...Penny played for RNS last year as a 14 year old.

Hey Lala... Have you had a chance to watch Nathan MacKinnon and Cole Murphy from Cole Harbour? They are 95 born. They are "somethin' special".

Nathan MacKinnon ive heard a lot about, apparently he has as many pts as Crosby did as a 1st year Bantam...now im not saying he is going to be as good, but he is obviously very talented.
