Lala, do you think Jérémie Fraser has a shot a #1? Definitely. He is thought of more as a very good defensive guy and he already has 7 pts in 6 games this season. And to put that into context, 15 year old dmen rarely put up any sort of numbers. Guys like Vlasic, Gragnani and more recently Xavier Ouellet barely break the teens and those guys were known as offensive guys where as Fraser is actually more heralded for his defensive game. He is in the conversation but there are a lot of good offensive guys available as well.

Thanks. Playing midget AAA at 14 show how good he is. I tought he plays a similar game to Mark Barberio.

That stats quoted earlier in the thread for Ciampini and Hodhod were pre-season stats.
In 2 games so far Ciampini has 3 goals and 2 assists, Hodhod has 1 goal and 2 assists in 2 games. They also have a very talented team mate, Frederick Gamelin who has 6 pts in 5 games but he is even smaller than Hodhod.

This year is a very DEEP DEEP draft for the kids from Nova Scotia.. i just know a few from on top of my head but there are some that are really good.. and by the looks of it.. not putting the mooseheads down or anyhting but they should maybe look in drafting a goalie if there is any good one's out there.. Shawn Jeffrey that plays with Cape Breton West.. had 53 shots last game and only let in two goals.. for a 15 year old that is unreal for his 3rd game in Major Midget.. and it was against Cole Harbour that is the top team in the league..
other notables..
Kyle Farrell From Cape Breton Tradesmen Jesse MacInnis From Cape Breton West Devon Oliver Dares From Dartmouth Subways
that was just a few to name.. a few sleepers in the draft that SHOULD get drafted and get a long long look..

The problem with Farrell is he is 5'07, according to the league site, which means he is probably more like 5'05. There are also a couple goalies from NS who are intriguing. Brandon Boucher of the Subways, he is 6'01 166, Jacon Brennan of Halifax, he is 5'11 155 and Brandon Whitney of Valley, he is 6'05 175 (not a typo)

Darcy Ashley should go very high There is a reason why Ashley wasn't drafted this past Q draft.

Darcy Ashley should go very high He will probably go in the 11th or 12th rd...a team hoping and praying he decides to report. His commitment to U of Maine is pretty strong.

We all know about these "commitements" but we will see, His is pretty strong, hes had it for 2 years...I would put him in the Biega category in terms of NCAA commitments.

Job #1 for the Moose G/M and scouting dept. is to spend some quality time with the Ashley family and try to convince them that coming to Halifax could give them the best of both worlds (Hockey and Education). NO IS NOT ACCEPTABLE at this point in the game with 9 months to the draft that is just enough time to add another member to our family.

I don't know if Cam's number one priority right now in October is to a convince a kid he could have drafted last June to come to Halifax. With your no is not acceptable reasoning I guess the Raps will re-sign Bosh, Cavs with re-sign LeBron and the Heat will lock up D-Wade and we have a boring NBA off-season.

I know its early but this kid is putting up some eye popping numbers...
Luca Ciampini, 5'11 186, Chateauguay AAA....
In 5 games...he has 9 goals and 5 assists
9 goals!
To put that in perspective, Olivier Archambault, the kid who went 1st overall last year finished the season with 16 goals and 33 assists in 45 games
Not to mention Ciampini is a more complete player.
But like I said....its early.
