exactly they keep marking things up and takling thigs away, it is unfortunate but I think the writing is on the wall if things keep going the way they are the Rocket will be gone and they will blame the fans instead of looking with in. I disagree. If the Rocket leaves, we should blame a) the building, first and foremost - no team can survive long-term in such an awful building b) the so-called, mythical, "great Island hockey fans", most of whom never bother to show up at a game unless they're given a free ticket. Don't get me wrong - there ARE great hockey fans on the Island, and many of them post here on the forum, and are loyal season-ticket holders. However, there simply aren't enough of them. Just calling a spade a spade. If the Rocket leave we blame the terrible management of the team, the terrible marketing of the team and the lacklustre perfomance year after year. Doggy.....i really don't think the ppl aren't going cause of the rink....that song and dance is getting old, the rink is what we have right now and doesn't look like it is gonna change anytime soon.... and to say the "great island hockey fans" are mythical is kind of an insult...people won't go to games when they don't feel the team puts their best effort forth or when it is so badly managed that its not worth their money.....aren't you one who didn't bother to renew your season ticket for at least one year? ?

Attendance is down most everywhere. We came into the league at a good time.. interest in NHL was dropping, Sidney Crosby was here, and the new ticket in town was very entertaining and successful and also well marketed
Unfortunately since then it's been alot of status quo and no real effort put forth to keep fans and sponsors... but it isn't an Island thing
Hell Lewiston just won the Q last year and opened at home for the first time in 4 years and they drew barely 2500 for the banner raising ceremony.. are they rotten fans too waiting for free tickets? Or perhaps has the Q leveled off to the point where the reality is most franchises will be lucky to draw 3000 fans per night?

Attendance is down across the Q because quite frankly the on-ice product just isn't what it used to be. There's (seemingly) not as much talent out there, the intensity on the ice isn't near what it used to be......... the product simply isn't as good or as exciting as it once was. I mean think of the average game in your guys' first year.......... and think of the average game now. Night and day. The product was alive and thriving in 03-04........ now there's a little something wrong with it IMO. PS - Not so much speaking to Woody here (as I've already talked to him on countless occasions about this stuff), just speaking in general but quoting Woody's post as a reference opint.
