Comments about Guy from Porkchop of the Titan board.
"Take the most animated, fly off the handle coach that you've ever seen and multiply that by 4 and you have Mr. Guy.............I promise you that you'll see sticks, water bottles and chairs all over the ice a couple times this season........he was always one of my favor visiting coaches........we had a good rivalry with them in the playoffs for a few years and it was great watching him."

Congrats on getting a real coach.
The entertainment value with 'ol Guy is about the same as it was with Jean... he'll be good for a few blown gaskets, but off ice I always got the feeling that he was a nice guy.
I think he won the Prez. Cup back in '91 with the Sags... but during the entire time I watched him in the Q, he actually had a couple of memorable playoff collapses (99 and 00 Remps)... so maybe keep that in mind.. of course, those were a couple of REALLY puke teams.
I'm planning on being over in Charlottetown in early December and if I am, I will be taking in the Rocket/Sags game (Dec. 9th I think)... I was looking forward to seeing Martel vs. Jean.... but Martel vs. Chouinard?? Thanks, Serge!
Part of me wonders if he's coming back just so Paiement or Martel DON'T get the all-time wins mark. ;D

Guy loves winning and is a very good development coach that wants good team efforts from every player or they don't play simple...Rules!!!!Play,skate,Check,and get back and help in your end and shoot the puck...

I get the feeling that Chouinard may be a little "hot headed" as a coach. just from reading some peoples comments around the other boards..... Still know 0 about him, but thats the way it's looking. ;D You know how everyone laughs at Patrick Roy? Well before Roy everyone laughed at Guy. He is known for his blow ups, like Roy and Martel. One other thing he is known for...collecting turds. With the Remparts he took players who were talented but lacked character...which led them to blow up in the playoffs. Your team is already in place, and I expect him to get more out of his players. IMO, he will only make PEI a much better team, as he can win. This is a great move for PEI, and adds an extra level of excitment to the East Division!

Props to the Savard family for doing the right thing. Although it could be debated that Jean should have been fired last summer, the right move was made today.
Here's to hopes for better days on the island. Rocket fans deserve much better than what they've been getting since Vigneault left town.

I don't understand these comments about missing Jean's temper tantrums or entertainment value? He rarely did anything here.. I know he had the one big blowup in Moncton two years ago.. but I think that was it

[ Record for most games coached in the Q (988) Real Paiement now owns this record. # 1000 is coming up on November 2nd when the Sea Dogs come to St. John's.

What does this do to Corrado Micalef?
Anything?
I assume he will stay on, but as the defensive coach, he sure as hell needs to get the D going again........
With a coaching change, how much pressure does that put on the players?
The team has been struggling this season, without question. Savard has done his job by letting Jean go and finding a replacement. Now, it's up to the players to play.
Any player who had any issues with Jean, now need to move on and play there game.........the way they can.

Yes the players still have to get the job done. I am most interested in how Chouinard manages his bench and communicates with his players. I also think that this may be an indicator that Serge believes this team may have what it takes to go a long way this season and more than ever I expect to see him active at the tradng period to solify his roster

I expect that Guy will take a few games and practices to see what he has in terms of players....he may already know that if his hiring was in the works for awhile.
Will be interesting to see if he dissects the lines or leaves some if not all the way they are. Maybe he'll find out if someone can play regularly with Mo and Walks.
Will we hear chants of "Guy, Guy, Guy!!!" on Wednesday?...I'll do my best. ;D

I am sure Serge probably expained to him why things weren't working out with Jean, so hopefully Guy will take that into account starting out
