Did anyone catch the Compass coverage? Someone told me that Boomer was on a panel disussing that the firing was because they couldn't fire the team so they had to fire the coach. First off... Boomer I don't think goes to games unless he gets a free ticket for singing the anthem and what a stupid statement!

"On October 23rd, 2007 this rumour was squashed at a news conference."
Who posted that on Wikipedia? Are we getting ahead of ourselves here?

i would say that the rest of the teams in this league know that now the rocket are going to be a tough team to play against and will be well coached and will not be pushed around either...Scoring goals will be their name too..

I am going to say a few things that I am sure some of you will disagree with based on what I have read in here. I seem to remember back quite a while ago that some of you were complaining that the coach was playing too many players too often. Then it was he was playing too few players too often. You criticize the coach for trying different things to make things work. Then you criticize the coach for not trying different things to make things work. You speak of players not giving their all because they have issues with the coach as if that is ok. You don't mention anything about the fact that any player in the Q league that doesn't give his all when on the ice shouldn't be on the ice. Also, any player that is on the ice and doesn't give his all because he doesn't like the way the coach does things should take his equipment and go home. I assure you that I will continue to support the Rocket just as I have in the past. But before I do I would like to offer Yannick Jean my sincere thanks for his efforts while coaching the Rocket and I wish him every success in his future endeavors.

This was on the Wikipedia write up on Guy; There were rumors, according to RDS, that he had been hired by the Prince Edward Island Rocket of the QMJHL to replace Yanick Jean, however Chouinard squashed those rumors early on October 22, 2007.
Hmmm interesting, I was looking forward to seeing him coach the team.

He just made that statement, which is true, you can't get rid of all the players, it's the same in any league and sport, the coach is always the one to have his head chopped, even though I'm sure on occasion it's the player's fault.
