Not allowed to send him to the AHL. The existing CBA allows for Sprong to play in major junior or the NHL... nowhere else, notwithstanding the AHL playoffs after our junior season is over.
Bogus facts bring lack of credibility to this speculation.

Story at the hotsotve at Tims today, had the Sprong "family" wanting the Pens to re-assign to European League, as they feel it would be better for development (Auston Matthews, is the example they are citing). Dad, I mean the family and agents feel returning to Jr. Does nothing to improve the areas of the games the Pens want improved. This comes from someone who claims to be close to the team. Not sure if this is even a possibility for him or the Pens to do this? Story at the hot-stove at Tim's....LOL
Pretty much tells me everything I need to know.....
You know what they say..."Always start fresh at Tims" there is some good hockey minds at the Ts by the bridge every morning.

Good hockey minds everywhere
Doesn't mean they know shit all behind the scenes of a junior team

Not endorsing or condoning the "rumor" or speculation about Sprong,
But strictly from a human perspective I can see why Sprong and/or his family would want to play in Europe, he could be making some nice cash over there and its better competition. But obviously the logistics weren't there for him to go there. I think he's happy with his situation, a run at a mem cup is very exciting hockey to play, and could teach him aalot.

Sprong also got a nice signing bonus from the Pens to go play where he's told. As mentioned, the CHL/NHL agreement is in the CBA however it sounds like this will get changed the next time around which will hurt the CHL product.

John Moore says Sprong is 10 days away from game action. Idk where he got that information but, if Johnny says something you can generally take it to the bank.

Good to see him back at the rink.
If you listen closely I think he drops a F Bomb during this segment lol.
Can't wait till end of next week when the trade period is over and the deals are done and teams are back to normal.

Friend of mine was at practise this morning and told me Sprong looked unbelievable. Much bigger and stronger. Exciting times.

Be interesting to see if he does play tomorrow they gave a timeline of 10 days just yesterday. Be nice if he did but I would want to make sure he is good and healthy before inserting him into the lineup.
