You only have to look at the Santa Claus Parade , Canada Day Celebrations and the Atlantic Nationals as examples of how it might work smoothly. All of these Events attract far more than 10,000 and also have some Road blockages of some major arteries, but it always seems to workout somehow . Not only will the average attendance for Events at the new DTC be under 10K for the most part , but all streets will be unrestricted and traffic will disperse smoothly in all directions . Those are one off events and people expect that it's slow to leave and get home. It will be an adjustment for people used to getting home in 15 minutes at the Coliseum. Unlike parking, I think traffic is something that there is no easy solution. I don’t think, at least in my view, traffic in and out from new facility will bother people that much. After all on a daily basis, take any direction, North/South/East/ West from any main drag and feeder during peak working arrival and home after work departing , traffic is blocked and moves slowly, most do accept that as part of the situation. Thankfully I am retired and don’t have to deal with it- thank Christ. As has been pointed out , number of cars at Coliseum during most games 1000-1500 range, perhaps higher during some games, play off rounds etc. If the downtown core can’t handle that number of cars, parking/ traffic , why the hell did they build the new facility there. Yes, more walking will be required and parking charges almost a certainty so if that is an issue for some well redress is quite simple: Don’t Go!

The main issue when you add 1,000-1,500 cars to downtown is that you have a stop sign or traffic light every 300 feet. Coliseum you have a highway where people get on and you just go. Vaughan Harvey will help, but not for people going East...Dieppe Shediac Bouctouche Sackville etc.

Unlike parking, I think traffic is something that there is no easy solution. 2,000 vehicle suddenly dispersing through the downtown in several directions will not be a problem. It might be a short problem at the Gunningsville bridge at Assumption and on Champlain Street, but so what. It might take you 10 minutes longer while you sit in your warm car. Are you actually going to suggest that is a problem ? What I have learned over the years is that if you follow the heavy lineup of traffic it will usually take you longer ... and be more frustrating. If from Main Street you went up Lutz or Church to St. George, or even to Mountain Road, and then cross easterly to Botsford, you can enter into the Dieppe area from Botsford/Leswisville Road/Paul Street ... and come through the Acadie/Champlain intersection from Acadie. It may take longer but less frustrating than sitting in traffic.

Also a blessing at times as you know you will get through, look at getting out of Coliseum entrance to Killam Drve as it is the only light from the parking lot. Much easier turning east/west or straight out south as compared to all other entrances. I park in that area and never been more that 5 min getting out. Look, it will be an adjustment for all at the Wildcat games next season but in the end it will work out as folks will figure out the best advantage. That’s why we are not renewing as a STH next year, do a flex package to get a taste of it all. If it all works out with minimal fuss, then renew following year as STH. There will be plenty of seats available.
