The terms of our previously made in 2016-7 trades state that Sherbrooke was to return our 2019 2nd and 3rd picks that were originally dealt there as part of the Carl Neill trade.
Our local media reported at Christmas 2017 that we were supposed to move a 2018 2nd to Sherbrooke to complete this deal. In the same reporting, it was indicated we were to keep our own 2018 2nd should Nicolas Meloche play pro in 2017-18 and be compensated with Gatineau’s 2018 2nd should Alex Dostie play pro in 2017-18. It was unclear to me which pick was to go to Sherbrooke.
Under very mysterious circumstances Shawinigan selected with our 2018 2nd round selection. There was no trade announced, our media made no mention of the transaction, nor did the team....this pick was just listed as belonging to Shawinigan. The prevailing assumption was that this was the pick that was owed to Sherbrooke and they moved it to Shawinigan to complete some other deal.
However, it still seems that we don’t own our 2019 2nd and 3rd round selections.
I’m operating with the assumption that we do own our own 2018 2nd and 3rd and if we don’t see those returned I hope someday someone can provide an explanation. Those picks will be pretty valuable to us either for trading or for making selections.

There is how everything happen: To Sha : #28 To Cha: 2_2020(CHA) + 3_2020(SHE) To SHE: 2_2020(CHA) + 3_2020(SHE) To CHA: 2_2019(CHA) + 3_2019(CHA)

I'd like to see them add a couple of FA d-men that can play. This is a very soft area for the team and they don't have much in terms of Q ready young prospects either...

In an ideal world, they are sellers this year and they add both early 2019 picks and a couple high upside 2001/2002 d-men. Other than Spence there isn't really anybody else under 19 that is or could be a top pair guy. On a powerhouse/championship team, you need 3-4 1st pair caliber guys.

Spence should be able to step in to a role of # 3 or 4 I though they were going to land Webster the kid is a real diamond in the rough, from what I saw at the Atlantic's big & strong great two way guy, but understand he is not going to camp, going state side- There must be a couple of FA's that can play at this level

After Spence, there isn't much under 19 years of age on D. Mostly longshots and projected #5-6 guys.

Probably doesn't mean much but Lavallee is having a rough tournament. Another year of midget probably wouldn't hurt

Probably doesn't mean much but Lavallee is having a rough tournament. Another year of midget probably wouldn't hurt I think that's the plan unless he really tears it up at camp. They have a lot of guys who need to see Q action in nets...MacDonald Gaudreault and Paradis. Depending on how they look, one of them could be the starter in 19-20.

Anything that I've read about Gaudreault is that he had a very strong year last year. Good training camp last year with a shutout in an exhibition game if I remember correctly. I was surprised they didn't bring him in with Waite hurt last year. Camp is camp so you never know, however I'm looking at him as the next backup and possible starter after Christmas.

I don't want to read between the lines too much, but Hockey Canada must be happy with Kingsbury-Fournier. He was on the 3rd line for the first line. Scored two goals. He was on the top line yesterday and again this afternoon.
