Any news on who will replace Shannon ? Ritchie Thibeau is the Interim GM. I was told he’s not interested in the full time position because he enjoys the scouting part. He will assist in the recruiting process for the new GM.

He’s a Moncton native.

Would be a strange career move to leave the NHL for any other job than another NHL job.

Would be a strange career move to leave the NHL for any other job than another NHL job. Bowness is probably not too far off retirement age ... depending on what his retirement plans are, if he is planning on retiring home to Moncton some day, the chance to run a junior team as GM for a few years may be appealing - less travel, etc. That said, I don't think Bowness has worked in junior hockey before, so probably a bit of a longshot.

Sunday was the deadline for applications as per the Wildcats press release, however Mr. Irving has said the job was open until someone is hired.
He had a couple interviews during draft weekend.
Have any names been leaked?
I'll throw out two. These are not confirmed applicants.
- Jeff LeBlanc (GM and Head Coach of the Amherst Ramblers. Former Moncton Wildcat / Alpine)
- Shawn Evans (GM and Head of the Truro Bearcats since 2002. Applied for the Wildcats GM job in 2012)

Rumble was saved because we didn’t have another GM in place, this is a big year for him, we have somewhat of a good Vet squad with 19yr olds...He’ll be gone next season especially if the new GM wants to bring in his own guy..but all depends on when and IF we find a new GM lol
So far I’m happy with Thibeau and the moves he’s made in the off season though

Ya I don’t know the whole Bellemay story, but I was FLOORED when I found out we traded him and played Aresenault, no way we should have dealt a 1st rounder that could have grown and learned but is what it is I guess
