If your team was in first place with one of the best records , good special teams, why on earth would you trade away one of your best players ? Moncton continues to find ways to win with everyone one on the team stepping it up including the rookies. How can anyone say that they should go for it next year or in 2 years ? Early November. Strong teams are nowhere near as strong as they'll be once they load up, and the Cats have only had a few games against decent teams. Yeah they played a solid road game yesterday against a top team with a bunch of key guys missing, but we have to see this on a regular basis before drawing too many conclusions. We've seen the scenario play out many times where the Cats overachieve in the first 2 months, then revert to mid-pack by December. Tough to predict if this will be the case this year, but the next month will be a good measuring stick with a bunch of games against the likes of BAC/DRU/BLB/CHI/SHE rather than SJ/Bathurst every second game. If they're still on top in a month from now, then it might be time to change course and consider adding. Right now it seems obvious that you tinker in a way that strengthens the team for this year and next. I see the cats moving a depth forward and/or middle round pick(s) for a 18 YO defenseman. You don't mess with the chemistry of the team right now and give them a shot without adding anymore offense.(they don't need any imo) Many teams that win a Q title surprise everyone and overachieve the year before.

Can’t see Pelletier or Spence being moved , Moncton should only make depth moves if they make any moves at all, the price will be very high this year , and they are playing well They also don't have any need to add forwards, almost zero chance either Pelletier or Spence are moved and if there's a forward coming back its not going to be one with 3 goals for a package of those 2 players. Spence is already a top pairing dman in the league at 17.

If you guys go for it this year we maybe can work a deal out for PO and Gentile for Pelletier and Spence at draft? This is a joke right?

Any chance they upgrade Pataki with a 20 on D? Are there any decent 20's on a non-contending team? This would seem to be the most viable option. Upgrading rarely costs a lot and D is where our greatest need is.

Do you think he could play top 4 (Where does he play for Val D'or?) If so I'd like to see him on the second pair with Spence. Aspirot Sylvestre Spence Dion LeCoutre Stewart Would be a nice top 4 to role out come playoffs. This would also allow Lecoutre to go to a more comfortable 5/6 spot and 2nd PP duties. If it wouldn't cost too much then I'd have to say get the deal done.

Just based on stats, Gabriel Bilodeau from Gatineau seems like the best available overage Defenceman. Point per game player this year with the highest +/- on his team. Great size.
What would he cost the Cats? I'm thinking similar to what Sylvestre cost last year?

Boivin is a 20 and is a D would he be an option? I noticed he used to play in Bathurst.

Sam Dunn of the Remparts could be a good target. They have 3 overagers on D.

So if Dunn, Boivin & Bilodeau are targeted. I wonder how much of a difference each one would be...cost wise. Dunn = Pataki + Cats 1st & 2nd & 3rd Bilodeau = Pataki + Cats 1st & 2nd Boivin = Is that enough/too much or about right? With Dejong and Tucker as 7/8 D, I think we would have enough depth to run with the big boys. Dunn might be the priciest...he's with the Remparts and our history with them doesn't make me think we'd be dealt with fairly.

I don't think Dion would be a big upgrade on Pataki. Pataki is one of the best PK guys in the league and puts up similar numbers. On D my wishlist would be Bilodeau Gagne Dunn DaSilva Cormier

If your looking for an upgrade on a 20 why not go for one of the best 20 in the league on the back end Hunter Drew?
