Peter Reynolds is off to a great start at the U17 camp. He has 4 goals 2 Assists in the first two games. It would be nice if we could get him in the lineup.

No suprise bags of money will convince most. Seadogs are the crooks of the Q This "Sea Dogs are crooks" is pure unmitigated bullshit. Since Switchback - and likely others - missed my post in the Sea Dogs Development Camp thread, I'll re-post; In 2009, the Sea Dogs draft Pierre Durepos and Jonathan Huberdeau - who stated that they were leaning towards a US education package. I think it's great for Bathurst and the league in general when you are able to get top players to report. I have issues when fans and media of other teams are whining and moaning when a player reports to SJ or another team but think it's amazing that management of their team were able to convince players to report to them on the merits of the organization and community but when the SeaDogs, Mooseheads or Remparts do it the team wrote a big cheque.

It’s easier for the Bathurst owners to pay the NCAA players with their owners . They don’t have to write one big cheque , they can each write one cheque for $1000. Just sucks for Huckins he had to deposit 100 separate cheque’s but I guess in this day you can just do a mobile deposit

Good Article here on the Dogs young defense. www.nhl.com/fr/news/villeneuve-poirier-et-desroches-sont-trois-defenseurs-prometteurs-chez-les-sea-dogs/c-308390020A trio (of defenders) promising in Saint-Jean William Villeneuve, Jérémie Poirier and Charlie Desroches are determined to make their mark after a difficult first season CALGARY - At first glance - even at second glance, to think about it - there is not much positive to be gained from a season of 13 wins in 68 games marked by a 17-game losing streak, the longest in the world. the story of a concession that began in 2005. The Sea Dogs of Saint John are very likely to prove the opposite. How? Thanks to a trio of young defensemen who have learned the hard way, but who have been given the responsibilities usually assigned to veterans in their first season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). ALSO READ: Lapierre and Rochette stamp with impatience | Lafrenière is in the sights of Byfield This campaign has been far from fun for William Villeneuve, Jérémie Poirier and Charlie Desroches, but they hope the experience will pay off as they are ready to begin their year of eligibility for the NHL Entry Draft. . "Being a 16-year-old QMJHL defenseman is not easy at the base," explained Villeneuve, the second pick in the 2018 QMJHL Draft, at the Canadian Under-18 Team Selection Camp , where the three try to carve out a job. "There were a lot of expectations for the three of us as we were drafted high enough. But to live that season together, it was something good. These are two of my best friends. We help each other in the most difficult moments and we encourage each other when things are going well. We have a nice fellowship. " Difficult times, God knows there have been. In year 1 of a rebuilding cycle, the Sea Dogs featured one of the youngest teams in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) and were one of only two teams to miss the playoffs at Courteau - with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. "In terms of the difficult situation, I do not think there will be worse than a season like that," commented Poirier, the eighth choice of the 2018 auction. "For the future, it will be good to having lived all this since my first year. I will be able to reassure young people when I am older. " "It's obviously hard on morale, but you have to stick to the process," said Desroches, an anglophone from Prince Edward Island. "We have to realize that this is part of a long-term plan for us. It's a step towards something bigger. " The Sea Dogs posted the worst defensive in the league and the second worst attack to end the season with a minus-195 differential. Needless to mention, the individual differentials of the three main defensemen of the team reflect the pace of the season. But these are just numbers and it does not detract from the great potential of the three backs; their presence among the 44 best prospects in Canada at the under-18 selection camp is proof of this. Thanks to them, the Sea Dogs are the best represented team of the CHL with the Prince Albert Raiders. Depending on the pace of the upcoming season, they should also be selected fairly early next June. The experience they gained by playing several important minutes in all situations last season, will therefore serve them at the most important moment of their young career. "At the individual level, it's been amazing for us to play more than 20 minutes per game and face the best opposition lines," said Villeneuve. It has been difficult, but it is something that will pay later. I am really grateful for this opportunity. "It's a process and we have to say that the worst year is behind us. The more years go by, the better. I am confident that we will be able to reach the end in a few years. " Photo credit: St-Jean Sea Dogs / QMJHL

The rumors of a bidding war must have been false as I think they could have got more than a first and a 3rd for him if there was more than one team bidding on him.
