I'd say if Moncton ends up with the 3rd overall they pick C. Whynot. Obviously we want a top 2 pick but this Whynot kid sounds like a player. Does anyone know the official date and time of the lottery? Any chance it gets live streamed like the Memorial cup announcement was? Last year's draft lottery was April 5th. No official date has been announced. Odds are as follows: Moncton 42.9% Val d'Or (via Saint John) 28.6% Shawinigan 14.3% Gatineau 9.5% Saint John (via Blainville) 4.8% That is the odds to get the first overall pick. Those odds change as balls come out of the drum. In the two draft lotteries using this format, the team with the best individual odds has not yet won the first overall pick. There is actually a 57.1% chance that Moncton won't get first overall.

Couple of scenario's involving the 1st overall pick assuming no changes in draft order after the lottery:
1)Draft Josh Roy 1st overall giving you what looks to be a top 6 forward right away. 2)Trade down to add multiple high picks. Vald'or could have 2nd + 6th to offer. Could add an elite forward and defenseman. 3)Trade down and add an impact player + pick. Most unlikely. Could Add an elite D and still get a quality prospect.
It all comes down to how much better the guys scouting value Roy above the next couple of prospects available. Likewise with the other teams looking t trade up.

Sounds like the gap is closing between Joshua Roy and Justin Robidas. Whoever gets 2nd overall is getting a VERY GOOD consolidation prize. In my opinion, it becomes wide open at 3rd overall. I'm not completely sold on Cam Whynot. Not a fan of his compete level.

Only way I see it happening is if Moncton doesn’t view the gap as hug, and they can add 2, 6 and a 1st next year from VDO, I think they gotta look at it.

Who and when did we trade our own 1st round pick to? I believe it was traded as part of one of the worst deals they ever made 2- 1st rd. picks (2018 and 2019) and a 2nd rd. pick for Anderson MacDonald.

Still no draft lottery news? It was this time last year with the awards. Somebody indicated that it will be on TVA in a few weeks ... I have nothing to back that up.

Still no draft lottery news? It was this time last year with the awards. It was pushed back 2 weeks. Rumoured to be April 18th. Mostly to give the league more time to find a way to rig the results so Moncton ends up with 3rd overall

Does anyone know the reasoning behind the late lottery and Q draft? I saw that the OHL is having their actual draft today and the WHL's is early May...why do we wait so long to do ours?
