Does anyone know the reasoning behind the late lottery and Q draft? I saw that the OHL is having their actual draft today and the WHL's is early May...why do we wait so long to do ours? The Q uses it to market the league, their production is 100x better than what the OHL or WHL do by conference call late in the season.

They do the draft later because they actually do it live. The OHL does not and the WHL drafts kids who aren’t even eligible to play in the league the next season. The draft is one of the things I think the Q does right. The lottery, who knows why it’s been pushed later. Edit: just saw it answered before me.
