Yes, like last year when he traded Villeneuve, Poirier, Lawrence, Desroches, Burns, Stairs and Drover away for picks.
Congratulations, you played yourself.

Orr is in Quebec and will be reporting. To be honest should be fired after the draft anyways. Came In and fired D. Young after he built up the Sea Dogs. Yes Georgie made the Gauthier, Booth and Bourque trade (everyone in the Q knows that was Flynn and staff setting that up and Georgie in front of the camera taking credit). Since then he just keeps trading talent for future picks, the thing with trading players for picks is you never really look bad in the deal and you continue to sell hope. The Sea dogs need 21 wins this season to combine the last three win total of the 2016/17 team. Veleno put up 100 pts last year and will be back at 19 this year 😂😂😂 Your rant seems to have little to do with reality. Very strange. But at this point it seems you have an agenda that will not be swayed by something as trivial as the facts.

Daryl Young added about the same amount of pieces to the 2017 championship team as Georgie. I don't want to turn this into a Daryl Young bashing session but the fact is Young was terrible in his 3 drafts. The 3 first rounders in 2015 were really about all he had to show for himself. He made a few questionable moves that are in line with the very reason the person you are quoting is suggesting that Geogie should potentially be fired. And if they haven't fired him for that move a long time ago (not that firing Young was Trevor Georgie's decision because it wasn't) why on Earth would they suddenly fire him for it now? As far as trading away players after that, well that's how rebuilding works. The initial plan was to try for a quick rebuild around Veleno, D'Orio, and the 2 new imports. When it became apparent that wasn't going to work he did the right thing and started selling off what he could. Maybe if Daryl Young didn't completely botch the 2014 draft there would have been a better supporting cast to make it work.

Is there a chance they are able to sign Peter Reynolds? If so that is some addition. He was great at Shattuck-St. Marys.

Veleno put up 100 pts last year and will be back at 19 this year 😂😂😂 I can’t see any scenario in which Joe Veleno is back in the Q next year. He signed with Detroit shortly after the Volts run was over. Despite being 19, he’s allowed to play AHL this coming season. Veleno has a legitimate shot at making the Detroit Red Wings this coming season. And if he doesn’t, do you seriously think the Red Wings will want to send him back to Junior, where he finished fourth in the scoring race and finished with the best points-per-game ratio in the league? He needs to develop his pro game, and will be NHL bound next season at best, AHL at worst. Either way, Veleno’s Q career is over. And in return for that season and a half of Veleno, Georgie acquired what turned out to be Josh Lawrence (CSR#6), Brady Burns (CSR#25), Joshua Roy (CSR#1), Charles Savoie (CSR#22), and 2020 DRU#1. Should Georgie be fired for that??

It looks like we didn’t acquire a 20 year old from the Drakkar after all....

This is a very important draft in our rebuild process. If he is able to get these guys mainly Reynolds and MacDonald to report then he is a genius. If Roy, Savoie, and Orr are the only assets that play for us from this draft then that is not a very good draft. Fired may have been a little harsh but we could have added a few more good players that are willing to report instead of NCAA guys and Americans.

So basically we got Belisle for a 5rd pick?

Great attempt to get Cam MacDonald and Peter Reynolds. Just imagine if they were to join the squad that'd be some seriously unreal depth to have with the addition of the first overall pick Joshua Roy.

Not quite. The Sea Dogs acquired Alexis Belisle from Rimouski for a 5th is 2021; Plus swapped a 4th in 2020 for a 4th in 2021 And traded positions in 6th round of 2021. It is a confusing deal for sure.

Overall, at first look, Trevor and Anthony did a very good job - in the face of a pile of "fake news" from several reporters in Quebec.
I'm thrilled with the Joshua Roy selection. Charles Savoie and Robert Orr profile to be solid 'middle six' forwards.
However, Trevor and Anthony very much took the first page out of the Darryl Young playbook with the selections of Peter Reynolds, Cam MacDonald and the slew of players from New England and/or with NCAA aspirations (i.e. the rest outside possibly Carter McCluskey). If either of Reynolds or MacDonald report in a year or two, the draft could be considered brilliant. If both sign in SJ, it would be a grand slam. If neither arrive, it would likely be viewed as mediocre at best.
Speaking of Carter McCluskey, he's not just a token local kid. McKeens had him rated number 90 overall and Hockey Prospects had him at 170 on their list. So, 236 could prove to be something of a late round hidden gem.

Your comments are correct - no way to evaluate the overall draft at this point, and how successful it was will be dictated by whether Reynolds and/or MacDonald report. I was also happy to see them pick Roy. At this point we have a stable up front of Guay, Cajkovic, Lawrence, Drover, Burns, Stairs and Roy; that’s 7. add in Plamondon, Jacob, MacIntosh, White, Wilson, Belisle and Savoie (from the draft today). That’s 7 more. Possibility of Williams, Reynolds and MacDonald. The back end has Villeneuve, Poirier, Desroches, Sibley, Gallant, and Musico. Maybe Kakouras. Orr from the draft. Bouthillier, Savoie and Da Silva in net. Still a top Euro to add. And who knows if another guy from last year can make the squad. Looks promising.
