Maybe I am naive but I would think that elite level talent from the US would at least investigate their options in Canada and the CHL. Not all kids are smart enough or talented enough to go the College route.
I could be wrong but maybe your not cut out for college if you think every city in Canada is french and that you have to pay money to play junior hockey in the CHL.
That might have been an excuse back it the 80's and 90's but we have the Internet now.
But then again your talking about the American education system, where some people think that Minnesota and Alaska are countries that borders the USA to the North.

But then again your talking about the American education system, where some people think that Minnesota and Alaska are countries that borders the USA to the North. To some if they can't go the college route they don't think they can play pro and spending 5 years in Canada is just putting their good ole American education on delay. The thought of going to a Canadian University doesn't even cross their minds. Americans are raised to not look beyond their borders for opportunity so it's hard to shit on kids for not wanting to know what opportunity is outside their borders. Those who have parents who went to big NCAA school feel added pressure to following down the same path because in America being great is doing exactly what your daddy did and what his daddy did and what his daddy did. What you want to do is secondary.
