Now that the Gatorade challenge and Telus cup are over has the draft order changed at all? If you look at points only it appears that Joshua Roy had a half decent tournament. I didn't see any games or really haven't seen any head lines from the tournament so I can't comment on his play. Robidas was MVP of the Telus cup and his team lost in the gold medal game. I watched a bit of the game last night and Robidas is skilled but small. I am not sure if we need anymore skilled small forwards at this time. Roy was great. Quebec Blue were the better team, but Roy drove his line for sure. L'heureux was also very good for Blue. Thought Malatesta was just ok. As for the Atlantic kids, Whynot, Dean, MacDonald, Melanson, and Huckins were all as advertised. None of them dominated, but certainly were very noticeable. Recent BU commit Ryan Greene also showed flashes for NL. How did Nause look?

A touch quicker than the other D on his team and didn't make any mistakes. To be fair, the NL team looked like they had used every ounce of gas on the Quebec game and didn't trouble NB whatsoever.

From google translate: Nearly a month from the QMJHL draft ... And if the SeaDogs would cause THE surprise with the first choice with a player that NO ONE expects .. Hopefully the Dogs take Roy or Robidas and not go off the board unless they have a significant deal in place where they can get two top guys.

Translate:
Nicolas Guay will be traded to SJ at the draft.
Drummondville will receive a 2nd round pick and two 3rd round picks.

If he plays well, I could see Guay being flipped at Xmas for a lot more than that if they wanted to go that route. Probably hold onto him and try to win a playoff series next year though.

Nice pickup for the Dogs. Looks like they want to be somewhat competitive for next season.

Next year will definitely be an interesting one at Harbour Station. That forward group is going to benefit from Guay.

I wonder if that's in addition to the 2nd round pick that we pretty much gave away to Drummondille during the Xmas trading period.

Couldnt agree more with both of you. If that's their plan they should trade down but I really hope there is nothing to that rumour.

Add Guay to Lawrence, Cajkovic, Burns, Stairs, Drover, Belisle, Jacob, the potential 1st overall pick and the new Euro forward.....
That's huge help for the young guns. Guay should bring in great leadership to help the boys improve.
Also, why would Saint John NOT take Roy? Just an opinion, I feel like not taking him at 1st overall would be stupid.

Depends on who they pick. 99% of us have never seen these kids play. 100% of us have likely never seen any high end American kids play. I'm sure the pick will make sense after people see how it unfolds.

Only way I could see a "surprise" at #1 was if Reynolds dropped all NCAA intention and was to sign with SJ. Pick the Maritime boy, similar with Green in 2014.
