Only way I could see a "surprise" at #1 was if Reynolds dropped all NCAA intention and was to sign with SJ. Pick the Maritime boy, similar with Green in 2014. It would seem more likely they trade up into the 1st round and draft Reynolds later on though. Maybe the guy in the tweet views Robidas as a surprise pick. He looked dominate at the telus cup. Roy hasn't dominated at the Gatorade challenge/Canada games. From what I read about him, he is a PP specialist. maybe they don't see him transitioning well at the higher level.

I wonder if that's in addition to the 2nd round pick that we pretty much gave away to Drummondille during the Xmas trading period. I definitely hope that something else is coming back for the 2nd we have up at xmas. A 2nd and two 3rds is a good deal for Guay but two 2nds and two 3rds is a little steep for a 20 year old.

Zach Dean would be the only pick that makes sense over Roy. But they better be damn sure he's coming if they pass up on Roy.
Dean is a hell of a talent tho. I've heard the opinion that he's better than Newhook at the same age from a few different places now.

Stoked to have Nicolas Guay on the team next season. Excited to see them icing a competitive team next season. I am confused at best about the draft part. If Saint John isn't taking Roy or Robidas with the 1st overall pick why not trade down. I have faith in the scouts for them to take the guy they want. But if you know all the teams want those 2 players, put a price on the pick and move down to 3rd or 4th.

Hard to know what to believe. The tweet could just as easily be something we are making bigger than what it is.

Teams love the big performances at CWG, Telus, etc. (the big stage) so maybe that's the case. I'm intrigued yet skeptical all at the same time.

This makes it a little more interesting for Moncton at #3 if Reynolds is in play. I'd be content to just hold onto #3 and see which guy (Roy, Robidas or Reynolds) is still available.

Is Reynolds that good? I was under the impression that Roy was the top rated player whether Reynolds was willing to come to the Q or not.

Which is fine but you said you’d be content to hang onto pick #3 and see which guy is still available.. when it’s possible the guy of those 3 that will be available is Reynolds and there’s no guarantee that he will commit to them. My point was really that you can hang onto 3, have Reynolds be available and still not get him.

Yeah I was thinking that the biggest winners in all of this could be Moncton. Haven't seen any of them play but from what I've been hearing the biggest drop off in talent is after those guys.
