This makes it a little more interesting for Moncton at #3 if Reynolds is in play. I'd be content to just hold onto #3 and see which guy (Roy, Robidas or Reynolds) is still available. Yeah I was thinking that the biggest winners in all of this could be Moncton. Haven't seen any of them play but from what I've been hearing the biggest drop off in talent is after those guys. Biggest drop of talent is after top 5 (Roy, Robidas, L'Heureux, Nause and Malatesta). After that, there's a bunch of guys that are talented but not at the same level (Bolduc, Nadeau, Tinling, Whynot, Richard, Mianscrum and Kidney). The next players are good but could play in the Q or be send down depends who will draft them (Huckins/Van Houte Cachero/O. Boutin/Orr/Macdonald/C. Boutin/ Savoie/ Agostino).

Malatesta isn’t a top 5 talent IMO... that’s not to say I’m wrong but I see a number of guys that I’d rather have over him if I’m picking in the top 5.

Dean is another interesting piece. Maybe he was the plan prior to the draft lottery? Hard to know what to believe. The tweet could just as easily be something we are making bigger than what it is. The tweet is about Reynolds I figured in one of my prior posts. Would be an interesting storyline.

Maybe, but we always see guys moving up because the way the played in playoffs. Best example is Mathias Laferrière.

Anyone here when Hockey Prospects Draft guide and rankings is coming out? Last year was May 16. I’d expect this years to be close to that date.

Sure, but if SJ takes him 1st then that allows one of Roy/Robidas to fall to #3. Which is fine but you said you’d be content to hang onto pick #3 and see which guy is still available.. when it’s possible the guy of those 3 that will be available is Reynolds and there’s no guarantee that he will commit to them. My point was really that you can hang onto 3, have Reynolds be available and still not get him. Sure but that's where we are now anyways. We are talking about the tweet which suggested that SJ would do something unexpected. If they take Roy or Robidas then that doesn't really fit the description. So when I say it would be interesting to Moncton, it is interesting if Roy or Robidas don't go 1st and 2nd.

I wonder if that's in addition to the 2nd round pick that we pretty much gave away to Drummondille during the Xmas trading period. I definitely hope that something else is coming back for the 2nd we have up at xmas. A 2nd and two 3rds is a good deal for Guay but two 2nds and two 3rds is a little steep for a 20 year old. I just read on Station Nation that the 2nd we already sent them in January is the one the tweet is referring to in this deal. There won't be another 2nd going to Drummondville to complete the trade, just the two 3rds.

Martin Lahaie talking Sea Dogs again. He seems to think he knows what the Dogs have planned. Quelqu'un m'a fait remarqué, Peter Reynolds n'a pas été repêché hier USHL, pourtant commit NCAA, un des top joueurs de 16ans... À moins que tsé Saint-John irait causer une surprise au draft, on jase là Translated Someone made me notice, Peter Reynolds was not drafted yesterday USHL, yet committed NCAA, one of the top players of 16ans ... Unless tse St. John would cause a surprise draft, there is a joke there

Not that this means anything because the team with the 1st overall pick usually gets lots of offers for the pick. Sometimes where there is smoke there is fire.
Martin Lahaie has tweeted similar tweets as well.
To me the only deal that makes sense for the Dogs is with Val Dor for the 2nd and 6th overall.
Unless it is with another team for a top 3 or 4 pick and a very good 17 year old.
Les Sea Dogs vont écouter les offres pour leur premier choix au total en vue du prochain repêchage #LHJMQ. On en jase ainsi que la liste du CSR. #tvasports

This tweet from Levis' video coach. Joshua Roy's Midget AAA team.
Translation: Seadogs looking to trade 1st overall to move back and select either Reynolds or Whynot. Peter Reynolds' agent is saying he isn't coming to the Q.

I'd rather keep the pick and take Roy. But if they are going to take Reynolds anyway (possibly as a result of working out a deal before the draft lottery) then they might as well trade down. Either that or trade to acquire another pick that could be used to select him.

If we move 1, I would hope it is in a 1+ for 2 and 6. While it didn't make sense a month ago, it would for us now (though not necessarily for vdo).
