Well they went into the 3rd up 7-3 and Gatineau quickly makes it 7-4. Lets see if they can actually hold this lead without needing the goalie to stand on his head.

Is there more than one player on the roster from the Moncton area? Jacob/ Macintosh Nothing against Vander Voet, but I'm not sure what makes him stand out in comparison to those 2. He's been playing regularly while they sit, or get assigned to Junior A.

Vander Voet may not be better, but he is willing to go to the dirty areas of the ice!

Nice job by the boys being able to come back last night after a shakey start. I watched the hi-lites and although the Olympiques had 3 goals on 4 shots they were all good goals. It was Not like Patenaude was having a bad game.

I'm one of the many that believe the Sea Dogs would be better off making some form of coaching change, especially to add a proven defensive coach at least. However, my pet peeve of the day is the lack of transparency around roster moves. For example, Aiden Macintosh played his first game with the Fredericton Red Wings last night - and had 1G & 1A - but the Sea Dogs did not say a thing. How about a simple message such as; "Aiden Macintosh has been reassigned to the Fredericton Red Wings. We thank Aiden for his efforts with the Sea Dogs and wish him well in the MHL". Ugh! Musico played for Grand Falls tonight..... Radio silence from the Sea Dog brass.

The last 5 games they played with pretty much the same line up compared to the shaking up of the line ups all along and guess what...? they are actually starting to play as a team. Who woulda known?

From the Sea Dogs today about player roster moves: Ahead of the upcoming Christmas break, the Saint John Sea Dogs announced several roster moves today.
Riley Bezeau has been called up from the Campbellton Tigers of the Maritime Junior A League. The 17-year-old forward has six goals and nine assists in 20 games with the Tigers this season. Bezeau previously played with the Saint John Vito’s Midget AAA team for the 2018-2019 season. From Rothesay, NB, Riley was drafted to the Sea Dogs in the 12th round of the 2018 QMJHL Entry Draft. He will join the club ahead of Wednesday’s home game against Moncton.
Forward Aiden MacIntosh has been reassigned to the Fredericton Red Wings of the Maritime Junior A League. MacIntosh has played 90 games for the Sea Dogs over three seasons, registering 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points. From Moncton, NB, MacIntosh was drafted to the Sea Dogs in the 4th round of the 2017 QMJHL Entry Draft.
Also reassigned is defenceman Patrick Musico who has joined the Grand Falls Rapids, also of the Maritime Junior A League. A free agent signing from Newmarket, ON, Musico played 36 games for the Sea Dogs over two seasons registering two assists.

I saw this on twitter this morning and thought it was kind of interesting. With all the success the Dogs have had during this decade they do not have a 500 record during this time. 313 Wins and 331 Losses.
Denis Demers @lhjmq_hdd8
Here is the famous ranking @lhjmq since 2010-11. The decade of the @armadablb with its 5 division championships. Or that of @sjseadogs and his 3 League titles. Or simply that of the @oceanicrimouski who maintained the best% of Wins (0.576)! What do you think?

Makes sense to be sub .500 On average teams should be a bit above .500 over the long-run. The reason for that is because of how OT and SO losses are treated thanks to the loser point. Otherwise the average would be exactly .500. In order for it to be normal to have 3 bad years to get to 2 good years, then in the 2 winning years you'd have to average significantly more wins per season during that time than you average losses per season during the other 3 seasons.

The Dogs are an impressive 7 -3 in it's last 10 games. They are tied with Baie Comeau for 13th place with 31 points each. They are Two points behind Halifax, BB, and VD. It's nice to see them turning it around and starting to climb the standings.
If they continue playing well I can see them catch a couple of these teams after the trading period. If RN sells off and starts dropping in the standings they could potentially catch them as well. I imagine Shawinigan will try to improve.
Team Pts Sherbrooke, 54 Chicoutimi, 47 Moncton, 44 Rimouski, 44 Charlottetown, 40 Drummondville, 38 Cape Breton, 36 Rouyn-Noranda, 35 Shawinigan, 34 Halifax, 33 Blainville- 33 Val-d'Or, 33 Baie-Comeau, 31 Saint John, 31 Québec, 27 Victoriaville, 25 Gatineau, 17 Bathurst, 16

That was actually my thought about it, that this chart was more embarassing than impressive for the Dogs. This chart covers 9.5 seasons, with 4 division titles, you wouldn't even need to be average for 5.5 seasons to still have well above a .500 win percentage.

All depends on what you want as a fan. Would you rather Blainville's stat line or Saint John's? True, tho I don't think the good and embarrassing cancel each other out. It's easy for me to say I'd love to win 3 championships, but, imagine as a pre-requisite for saying that I had to sit through 5 seasons of getting spanked night in and night out. 3 championships is undoubtedly impressive and something to be proud of, but I would much rather sit through BLB's regular seasons
