The thing about Sibley is that he doesn't necessarily need to be one of our best all-around d-men to have value. He just needs to bring a different skillset than the others who mostly seem to specialize in offence. Having played half a season for a team that (presumably) had an actual defence coach can't hurt either.

I really hope what has been rumored that Pelletier and Spence are being flipped to us at the draft are true. It gives us a top line forward for next year and a top 4 d for 2 years. The league looks pretty weak next with some tweaking up front I think we can contend.

I like both players but it all depends what we need to give up for two players that will only be around for one season.

An interview in the TJ with Georgie says that he has been trying to make a couple of moves but the but the asking price for experienced players is too high.
He said they expect to make at least one or two additions before the deadline.

He said they expect to make at least one or two additions before the deadline. That seems like a reasonable assessment. I was hopeful that Trevor could get a player like Jeremy Jacques - and a 3rd plus a 6th appears to be a great deal for BAC. However, it's possible that Jacques and his parents/advisor didn't want him playing outside Quebec.

Jacques is an NCAA guy and one of the picks is a 2022, so there may be conditions linked to that deal.

Briwhel - Jacques had played the NCAA draft card but he had been getting regular ice time until Sherbrooke made the deals for Bolduc and Bernard. Since he's a 2001-born right hand shot with decent size, I thought he'd be a good fit for the Sea Dogs core. But, as you suggest, there may have been something which prevented Trevor from making a deal for him - even at the relatively low cost of 2022 3rd and 6th round picks.
It will be interesting to see what Trevor and Anthony do between now and the deadline tomorrow.

I agree that a guy like Jacques would be behind the "Big 3" but he could provide a slight upgrade to the 4-6 D, especially at that price ... IMHO.

I hope the price isn't too much don't see much of an upgrade would rather give the ice time to the young guys. I thought Roy played his best game as a seed of. Savoie looked good as well.
