Ok folks ... it's a wrap the kid is back and back with his boy hood team let's move on ... does he play 1st or 2nd line minutes and where does Macdonald git in ... who does he play with Amen. I'll do my best Briwhel impersonation and throw out a possible lineup - attempting to have 4 lines that can be rolled and not be concerned about who's first, second, third or fourth ... Durocher - Roy - Cajkovic MacDonald - Drover - Burns Stairs - Lawrence - Badalamenti Savoie - NDP - Gould Vander Voet Poirier - Villeneuve Spadafore - DesRoches McCallum - Lehmus Sibley Bouthillier Patenaude

Ok folks ... it's a wrap the kid is back and back with his boy hood team let's move on ... does he play 1st or 2nd line minutes and where does Macdonald git in ... who does he play with I'd put him right in with the better older established guys. Maybe something like (just using names ignore "positioning") (also assuming Badalamenti is out a while): MacDonald - Durocher - Cajkovic Burns - Roy - Lawrence Stairs- Deakin Poot - Drover Gould - Savoie - McIntosh/VanderVoet/Whoever That would give him a good chance to produce and be successful, but certainly not have all the pressure on him to be the main producer on the team/line. In fact on that line he might have the lowest expectations of being the point producer of the three, which might be a good thing.

I thought that the line of Durocher -Lawrence - Roy was very good when they played together against Charlottetown.
Durocher -Lawrence - Roy
MacDonald - Burns - - Cajkovic
Stairs- Deakin Poot - Drover
Gould - Savoie - McIntosh/VanderVoet/

From the Sea Dogs website:
The Saint John Sea Dogs announced today the signing of Free Agent Forward Anderson MacDonald.
MacDonald, a native of Quispamsis who played his minor hockey with the Saint John Vito’s, was drafted 10th overall by the Sherbrooke Phoenix and scored 29 goals in his rookie season. He has since had stops in Moncton and Bathurst amassing career totals of 78 goals and 126 points, in 173 games.
“I have always dreamed of being a Sea Dog and playing in my hometown,” said MacDonald. “I want this more than anything. I’ll be surrounded by family and friends, and I know that I can help this team win. I believe this is where I can be my best. I am very grateful to the Sea Dogs organization, the coaches, and the players for welcoming me. I will not disappoint them. Putting that sweater on is a dream come true.”
The 6’2” forward had 15 goals and 28 points in 34 games this season with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
“Anderson actually came to us. He expressed how much he wanted to be a Sea Dog,” said Team President & General Manager, Trevor Georgie. “Both he and we believe that if he is to ever reach his potential, it is playing here, at home, for the team that he has always wanted to play for. He is a scoring winger who augments our already potent offense with some size and scoring. He will be held to a high standard on and off the ice, and our expectations for him are simple: be a good citizen, have fun playing hockey, and help us win.”
MacDonald has previously drawn national attention for his openness discussing his challenges with mental health.
“Anderson has been very public and candid about his mental health and that takes courage” added Georgie. “There are a lot of pressures that come with being a high-performance athlete and everyone copes differently. We want to play a role in helping him reach his potential firstly as a young adult, and secondarily, as a hockey player.”
Georgie said this decision was a group decision and something the players ultimately decided on.
“This decision was made collectively by the organization, our entire hockey operations department, and most importantly the players. We have a close knit group that is excited to welcome Anderson to our room. We are all on board with a common goal and Anderson will have the right support. He joins a positive group and now the rest is up to him.”

The Wildcats should take a a page from that and try to improve on their handling of "hot potato" communications see: Torchetti' situation.

If they did in fact include the players in the decision then I think this will be a good thing. Also, I believe that was a very smart move!

Nice interview with Alex Drover during intermission. Sounds like a very well-spoken, intelligent 17-year old.

My Christmas wishlist for the Dogs: An 18 or 19 year-old forward who upgrades the top 9 1-2 stabilizing vet D (a Chris Mcquaid would be an awesome add for example) with the number depending on how we acquire the fw An Alexandre O'Neill call up A new home for anyone that is blocked for one reason or another or for anyone about to become blocked. Hey Briwhel, I'd say you pretty much got your Christmas wishes; - Anderson MacDonald to upgrade the top 6/9 - a strong rumour that an upgrade to the D core is expected at the draft - Alexandre O'Neill added to the active roster for the second half 🎅👍

Anderson MacDonald was something I hadn't even considered but he makes us better short and medium term. Basically, we got exactly what I wanted

Anderson MacDonald with 3A in 4 games, looks like he’s fitting in well. Hopefully he scores his first as a Sea Dog soon and it’s only a matter of time before he has one of those 3-4-5 point nights!
