So, does anyone have any guesses on who will be the new head coach?
Stephane Paquette is saying that a few coaches have already reached out about the job. I understand that he’s not the most reliable reporter, but it would be an interesting job, especially since at this point they are likely only looking to get someone to fill in for the next 5-6 months.

I like the way Boyce is doing right now. I don't know if I'd roll the dice with Boyce ruling the ship all the way to the presidents cup and memorial. A lot to ask of a guy to come into half way through a year with huge expectations

I would expect to see a veteran coach who has been semi-retired - available and willing to sign on for one last championship run. Doubt we find a great candidate looking for a multi-year contract at this time of year. Other alternative I could see if they don’t get the candidate they want would be to add an experienced assistant coach to support Boyce and Salvis ... there would be some interesting candidates locally.

What’s Ted Nolan up to these days? Seems to always be RKI’s first choice.

I like the way Boyce is doing right now. In Saint John on Wednesday it looked like Salvis was filling in as head coach...

Last time they were looking for a permanent hire, and maybe Nolan did not want to commit to that. Coming in for 6 months as the coach of a contender is a completely different thing. Then they look in the off-season for a permanent replacement.

If Nolan can't be convinced, someone like Dany Dubé would be a great hockey mind. However, he has a lot of gigs going on in the QC medias. Maybe short term he could consider coming.

Guy Boucher, Gordie Dwyer

Dwyer would be an interesting candidate given his multiple years of experience coaching in Russia. Could be beneficial for forming a quick relationship with Khovanov.
Boucher certainly is no stranger to leading powerhouse offenses. That 2009 Drummondville team was a well oiled machine.

Could be a guy who starts as head coach with Ritchie as GM and then slowly groomed for the dual role over the next year or two if things work out.
