If the Wildcats are again looking for a Coach/GM, depending who they have in mind, they may now face some competition from Gatineau. Alain Sear resigned today as GM and shareholder of the team. I didn't realize Gatineau was in such a shit-show ... shareholders feuding, empty stands ... Sear was forced out by the other shareholders.

You’ve got to think that may have contributed to the wildcats moving on from Creed Jones.

Yes, they have problems on and off the ice. I read that they had about 1500 in attendance last weekend for a game against Drummondville...

Whatever the attendance that is getting reported on the Q site subtract at least 1000. Their last Wednesday night game they had it looked like 10-15 fans in each section but it was reported as 1300

Regarding Dwyer. He's a players coach. Well, he was when he was over here. The players loved to play for him and would "win" for him. I think he would be a good hire.....and may be the type of coach that THIS years team needs. Going forward however, if I were RKI and was actually considering Dwyer.....it would not be a long term deal. 2yr max. So, I think he would be a good hire for this remaining season....a very good hire....but he wouldn't be my choice to start/go through a rebuild with. Congrats to Gord Dwyer on being named Head Coach of @hockeycanada's entry at World Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland Jan 9-22. In a somewhat ironic coincidence, Dwyer’s assistant for the event is Dan Lacroix. What is the age group for this tournament? Are the players known yet?

More irony ... the other assistant coach is Troy Smith ... former OHL head coach with Kitchener and Saginaw, played for St. FX ... has family ties to Moncton ... could be another logical candidate for the Cats.

That was my read as well. It WAS a done deal until Sear was shown the door. They honestly didn't spend a whole lot on DLC. I don't think he's the guy you should be going with for the second half. I still think if they hold out until Jan 6th, they could have Gravel for a pretty reasonable price. Rodrigue - Gravel as a tandem going down the stretch and into the playoffs would be nuts. And Halifax is in a unique situation where they have 0 reason to hold onto Gravel really... I mean unless they think they can win a playoff game by some miracle. Rouyn actually has a reason to hold onto Emond if they don't get their asking price. Halifax doesn't.

If I was deciding, Dwyer would be on the short list. I don't care if he misses 2 weeks in January. Pick the best guy who won't abuse staff and gamble on Q games! (o:
