made this comment on Halifax board but applies here as well..... our need is not defense (especially as you say defense that don't play defense hahaha)..... without looking any 18-19 year old impact forwards available? Otherwise i don't see a Plandowski deal happening Damnit Bois.....I guess the capital letter "NOW THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE" was confusing?  I used your team because you guys are definite contenders. Plandowski was the first guy that popped into my head as a player on Charlottetown that will still have some seasons left in him after this one. Doesn't have to be him. Doesn't have to be Poirier/Villeneuve. There'd probably be all kinds of players and possibly picks involved, depending on who got traded where. p.s. One could argue some of our "defensemen" are actually more like an "impact forward"  i know what you said i was just replying to it as an example it wouldn't work have some kool aid and chill out lol |

Really starting to hate the Drover deal, not the one from this week but the one from 2 years ago. I like Drover but what was point in giving up Larose for him if we weren't going to give Drover much of a chance? We finished that season with two 20-year old defenseman and weren't going anywhere anyway, so Larose's absence wasn't really missed.
But last season our top defenseman were a bunch of 17 year olds giving up insane amounts of shots each night. It wasn't a "go for it" season but a transitional year in the cycle and would have been nice to have had a 19 year old top defenseman instead of a 17 year old bottom 6 forward. And now this season we trade Drover away, and we're apparently looking for a 20 year old defenseman and interested in one from CB of all teams?

It's starting to go around now that he's not coming back. If true that could be tough. Who would be willing to give up the assets to take him? I'd have to do some looking into that.

That is big news. If true hopefully Georgie can get a good haul out of it.
Even if he can only get draft picks he could flip them for players for this season or next.

I wouldn't blame him if he simply doesn't want to have to isolate for another 2 weeks. This would be the 3rd time. He's not the only one but everyone deals with it differently.

What if the quiet from SJ was just biding their time for others to empty their warchests before we pounce on players like Simoneau, Dufour, Barron, and Landry.
We actually have the assets between our young guns and the 1sts and players who would be shuffled down.

If you are hating the Drover deal, it is probably because you don't remember the players he and Larose were at the time. That was a ridiculous thing for CB to do from a value standpoint and competent ownership would have fired their GM if he tried to justify overpaying by saying RHD cost more. Drover didn't become the player we hoped he'd be by now, but that trade was still a good move. |
