That's a pretty good gamble assuming that is the real price. Bathurst tweeted it out, I assume it’s the real price

That's a pretty good gamble assuming that is the real price. Each time a draft pick in 2 years is moved, it doesn’t mean there’s futures involved. That’s the deal!

I doubt McKinney is the kind of player that would require futures - he is a moderately priced depth player, no more. The only angle I could see with some of these deals, even the minor ones, for this season that involve draft picks is some sort of Covid clause where the compensation gets adjusted if the season does or does not get completed.

That's what I was thinking. Plus possibly an adjustment depending if he is on the Wc roster next year.

TB and Florida are sharing the Syracuse team, both have 9 or 10 forwards under contract for this year even after taxi squads, so he may not have a spot there either. Plus they have prospects from other junior leagues not playing(WHL and ONH) right now. I'm actually surprised they are bringing him to AHL camp. we will know in the next 3 weeks.

So what if anything do we get to keep? I think if he had played a game then we'd get something. But he didn't even get to practice with the team so I think it will just become as if he didn't get traded. If he gets sent back from AHL camp, wouldn't he first go to ECHL ? I can't see him being back in the Q.

They may also want ECHL spots for older guys on NHL/AHL contracts.

Boo Nieves has agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Nieves attended the Lightning's camp on a tryout basis. He has five goals and 19 points in 76 career NHL games.

From Steve Turcotte reporter for Shawinigan. Fortier -> AHL. 3rd turned 1st if playoffs occurred Shawinigan -> turns the page on Fortier and now has the 1st and 3rd to use in other trades if they chose too. Rumour was if Fortier played a game for Shawinigan, Moncton would have keep the 2022 3rd round pick.
