Most. Boring. Trade. Deadline. Ever. Ok it got exciting late... Mikaël Lalancette @miklalancette · 3m La transaction est majeure. Plus de dix éléments impliqués dont plusieurs choix de repêchage. Un jeune espoir fait le chemin inverse. #lesoleil Natan Grenier apparently coming over as a prospect.

Mikaël Lalancette @miklalancette · 10m On me dit que les Sénateurs ont déjà confirmé son renvoi dans la LHJMQ. #lesoleil
So the Daoust trade is not conditional, nice break for the WC.

The return is very good for the Wildcats. Wonder if Grenier joins the team in the 2nd half? I guess they would need to move Hamel and Olson. They were already looking for more minutes for Darcy and Dollemont with 8 bodies.

The return is very good for the Wildcats. I would say it's Daoust for Grenier...Couture for 3rd plus 3rd and 7th and Blagden for 6th...

Grenier / Morin seems like a solid 1st pairing to develop over the next few years, L & R handed shots respectively.
No matter how you want to frame the trade in terms of assets, this is a great trade for the Cats that will not have a massive impact on the team the Cats ice in the 2nd half. It will be interesting to see the battle between Hurtubuise & Couture play out, and how good Couture can be on a highly skilled team.
As I said when Bellamy was aquired, no need to overreact about a 2024 4th round pick.
Will Hamel or Langlois be moved?

I would move the two 19 year olds with the most value unless the offers are lowball. If you can add a couple 2nd round picks, that helps you long term plus creates more minutes for young guys.

You have to imagine that they do something to clear up the backlog on d a bit in the next few minutes.

Yeah, somebody said before the TDL that the Hamel trade would make the Stewart one look great...Hamel is still here... I'd rather get a 3rd for Hamel and play Dollemont/Darcy than get nothing next year. Hard to say what the market is for Labelle Langlois Hamel and Olson.
