Looking ahead to the Q Draft: If no trades are made, Moncton's first 5 picks will be 22-25-40-43-53. How is the draft this year? Top heavy or deep? I could see them packaging 2 of those picks to get into the 15-18th range.

Lounsbury had a strong first game at the Telus Cup with 2 goals. Baillargeon and Magog and playing now. Baillageron had 3A in a 6-3 win over Vancouver NE Chiefs.

They got their 2 top guys (Morin and Mercier) without having to make a move into the 1st round. I wouldn't mind trading our 2023 1st for a player who can play next season and the 2023/2024 season.

The 2022 draft is likely very different from 2021 given that most of Quebec didn't play any games in 20-21. This draft all the players had pretty normal schedules so less players will slip and consensus will be more similar like a normal draft, scouts got to see them a ton compared to 2021.

Flyers win again, 6-5 in OT vs Mississaugua...2A for Lounsbury.
Fun fact, the stats on that team are all drafted by different Maritime teams Martin(Hal) Patterson(CB) Collette(Bat) and lounsbury(Mon).

Why is Sydney at the Telus Cup? They were supposed to host it this year so they got a bit of a pity invite when the tourney was moved.

Why is Sydney at the Telus Cup? They were supposed to host back in 2020 but covid happened so their hosting duties got delayed to 2021 but more covid waves happened so it was pushed to this year but then both the telus cup and esso cup were moved from their host cities to Alberta for some reason but the host teams got to keep their automatic entries into the tournaments.

Its actually really odd, the tourney hosted in Alberta does not have a single team from Alberta, with Notre Dame being the closest team (7+ hour drive). But I suppose they just put it in Alberta because they were worried about restrictions.

There are different schools of thought...you can draft size to offset the current small group overall or you can go for skill/upside and then add size later in the draft and when you "go for it" through trades. obviously it depends on how the team likes those big players on the CSR list.
