Any news on any candidates for the assistant coaching positions. Thought they might have announced the new hires before camp opened.

Any news on any candidates for the assistant coaching positions. Thought they might have announced the new hires before camp opened. From the TJ last week: Crickard, who was officially promoted to the top role earlier this month, has interviewed more than 10 candidates for the coaching positions and is close to making a decision as training camp opens in three days. The process has included initial phone calls and introductions as well as a more intensive follow-up zoom sessions. “I have been giving candidates between three and six tasks to complete, homework really, and they presented to me with a purpose of guiding a discussion and for me to get a better understanding of their thoughts, how they work and the level of detail they put into this work.” |

Great for Lee who carved out a great pro career for a guy who only had one year of major junior hockey. Lee was a hardworking forward who was a really important character guy on our 03-04 team. Even all these years later I still think it was a mistake to not consider him for a 20 y/o spot for the 04-05 team. Great for Lee who carved out a great pro career for a guy who only had one year of major junior hockey. Lee was a hardworking forward who was a really important character guy on our 03-04 team. Even all these years later I still think it was a mistake to not consider him for a 20 y/o spot for the 04-05 team. Just hoping Crickard, Lee and whoever else they bring in can get the most out of this group so we are not the door mat for the league for the next couple of years. Even if they lose more than they win as long as they work hard and are competitive.

Just hoping Crickard, Lee and whoever else they bring in can get the most out of this group so we are not the door mat for the league for the next couple of years. Even if they lose more than they win as long as they work hard and are competitive. Assuming they do hire another assistant you mean. After all this regime does have a history of going the cheap route in the first few years of a rebuild. Especially on coaching with experience as a defenseman....which is what we are missing right now...again... |

Especially on coaching with experience as a defenseman....which is what we are missing right now...again... To be fair, I thought that the D improved from the moment that Crickard was hired. I don't know that having a coach that played D is as important as having the third coach so that they can work on specific skillsets. |

You might be right about that but since they haven't even announced Lee as an assistant yet maybe just maybe they are waiting to introduce both new assistants together. |
