I agree ... my suspicion, though I could be proven wrong, is that most if not all all community minded business people who have the means and interest to invest in a major junior team would have already come out of the woodwork the last time the team was purchased by a broad based community ownership group from LGM. Those who did not get involved at that time likely lacked the interest, the capital, or both. I do not doubt that someone is trying to form a committee to keep the team in town ... but I am skeptical that they will come up with enough capital to do so. We’re not talking about local business people buying the team tho. We are talking about a bunch of small community shares buying made available, to anyone even fans. There is no way that works IMO ... they just don't have enough fans. Even if they could convince 1,500 individuals to invest $2,000 each (they won't - they can barely convince 1,500 to invest $15 in a game ticket), that only comes up with $3 million, which is likely barely enough to buy the team - and you would still be left with ownership of a business that has not been able to operate profitably in over a decade. Realistically, you would need to come up with $4 million plus to buy the team and re-capitalize the business ... and with nothing but a history of operating losses, it likely only buys you a few years until it is once again out of cash ... If you had a franchise that was operating profitably, you MIGHT be able to structure some sort of community ownership a la Green Bay Packers, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Kitchener Rangers; but it won't work as long as the organization is bleeding cash.

How do you pull that off with a money losing CHL franchise in a small rink offering limited potential for recouping any losses? How do you do a cash call to 1,000 local owners to keep the team afloat through the end of a season after the budget dries up in January? This model didn't work with successful business people trying it who had capital to invest and be able to keep the team afloat. The model you're suggested never works. The only local model that would is with municipal government involvement where the losses can be justified as trying to keep something for the community.

I think it’s doable if they can get 2000 people in the rink as a average but after 2 years of covid and now the cost of living and honestly demographics the teams future in the area is in doubt.
Corporate sponsors like what Bathurst Macdonald’s are doing will help, giving free tickets to kids etc and it’s great they are stepping up as they seem to care about the community and the team but Northern NB isn’t growing and the demographics is just getting older and older.
I say within 3 years the team is gone unless the government helps with a forgivable loan or the community makes a business model work, but I don’t see that happening

Interesting snippet from Mikaël Lalancette's article about new commissioner Mario Cecchini.
Some markets are experiencing difficulties, the sale of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan was blocked a few months ago and rumors are circulating at top speed in the halls of the Sports-Rousseau Center of Excellence in Blainville-Boisbriand about the future of the Armada.

I'm wondering if the Titan stay long term, season tickets are available for next season so we at least have 1 more season lol... Honestly wouldn't be shocked if teams like Blainville or Baie-Comeau would be moved before us but who knows.

More news regarding the Titan. my French is a little choppy as of late does this translate to the fact that the league is not opposed to the Titan being sold in the end? Which means they could move?

According to Steve Turcotte Steven Leal is still trying to buy the Titan, apparently the team plans to present an agreement to the league at the general meeting in June.
