A whole lot of negativity around this team lately from everyone on this forum. Maybe a little bit of positivity and understanding that change doesn’t just happen overnight. First step is putting a better team on the ice next season and building forward. If it’s Mateo Mann on the blue line next season. He makes us better and a possible trade chip at some point.
Can’t imagine being a fan of a team and constantly ripping every move they make basing it all off of well this is what I heard and this is what I read in French. Just breathe and support your team who by the way are all 16,17,18,19 and 20 year olds Just my two cents which I’m sure isn’t worth much to Anyone

Looking at what 2005 born players might be available, Burbidge from SJ could be a target for us at the draft. Saint John want to move into the top 10 and we have the assets to possibly get Mateiko from them too.

Just a terribly mismanaged franchise for well over a decade at this point.

Thing is people aren't ripping the players their frustration and or apathy for this organization lies with ownership and management.
Yes change doesn't happen overnight but where has there been any positive change in direction with how things have been done on the hockey operations side of things, especially when they keep claiming to be aiming for 2024-25 season yet are trying to acquire players (Andrei Losko) that don't align with that cycle, they are also on their third head coach in two years and could very well be on their way to their fourth given we don't have confirmation yet on if Goyens is returning for next season.
What people want to see is stability and a proper plan that's followed through on, if the plan truly is for the 2024-25 season as they say then the drafting and development of the 2005 draft class should of been the priority from day 1 not trying to trade yourself to a championship which this organization should already know doesn't work given the debacle that was the boomerang trade which was 20 years ago this season.
It always makes me laugh when people complain about others complaining and being negative about sports teams like these people complaining and being negative want to be that way, when they just want to see the team they cheer for win and do things the right way.
If they choose to spend their money on the team and don't like how things are being done then they have a right to complain and be negative about it or even stop spending their money on said teams which in the Eagles case a portion of people have done.
I don't want to be negative and I don't want to complain but don't try to sell me and others on a plan every couple of months with town hall meetings and articles in the local paper then proceed to not even follow your own plan you keep preaching and expect us to buy in.

Just breathe and support your team who by the way are all 16,17,18,19 and 20 year olds Just my two cents which I’m sure isn’t worth much to Anyone There's nothing BUT change here. Change happens almost daily under this GM. Under Shaw's guidance how many head coaches over the last few years? We're not allowed to question where we're going or what we're doing until September? How does Mann make sense as a possible trade chip? What are you striving for with a player like that? A 9th overall finish? Possible trade chip for what exactly if he makes your team better? That endless loop of trade logic of veteran talent is how you never end up actually peaking with a solid group and going on a playoff run and why some players and agents prefer to steer away from the organization completely if there is an option. Crunch all the numbers. Analytics. Team statistics. Whatever. For 15+ years now this is the worst run team in the CHL by almost any measurement. It was a 3rd straight bottom 5 season until the last few weeks of this past season where the team bought 18yr olds to try and shoot for the playoffs. If we as a community supported the team any less it's probably looking for a new home. At this point people complaining and bitching and demanding success is an amazing thing. It means people still actually care for what this team is after being fed a shit sandwich for more than half of the teams existence. Give every market this type of constantly losing and rebuilding team and absolutely chaotic off ice shit show full of nothing but local politics and public forums where we're told how everything is changing while literally nothing seems to change and many teams wouldn't last as long as this one has.

Fun fact, Burbidge and Shields played together in Bantam He also played with Squires at the Mount. Working to acquire a guy like Burbidge would be assets well spent, rescuing a guy like Mann who wants out of CHI makes no sense to me, other then Sly doing someone a favor. Cape needs 05's desperately if they are serious about making a run. Of the 04's we have and I will include Mann in that group, I see Newcombe, Schmidt as the only 2 that could be here in 2024-2025 with the 3rd over ager almost having to be a goalie. So what are we doing bringing in 04 players at this point. That is not being negative, that is complaining, but a very merited complaint. Goyens will be back running his 2 line bullshit again, 1 PP unit and playing guys who won't be back the following season 22-24 mins a night. Prediction...2-3 more of the young guys will pull a Desruisseaux by Christmas.

Hearing we might be getting another player from Chicoutimi. Thomas Begin could be a possibility.
04 born but is someone that could have a breakout year and be nice tradebait at Christmas.

I guess that’s maybe why I’m pushing the ‘pump the negativity breaks’. I get that 2005 and 2006 born players are high priority and needed for the big run that we were promised - but I also do think this season needs to see a playoff run to add some experience for the younger group, show fan base that we are building towards something special and also tell the 2004 group that this season is a potential try-out to see who wants to be apart of the team the following year
Definitely need to add a top end scorer to play with Squires and Newcombe and having two committed euro’s would go a long way I expect Patterson,Sheilds, Lavoie, Daigle to make big steps this year

It was a name I thought made sense for Cape Breton before... I've seen a rumour about Komarov to the Eagles.
