He could have the Best Team in the Q and he won't fill the Rink . Sad but True . If Simon moved up the Go for it Year to 24 ...........then he is not listening to "ANYBODY" and will Burn this thing to the Ground . And if he doesn't win it all and has a lengthy rebuild he's pulling his hair out 5 years from now. Simply putting a contender on the ice for 4 months doesn't change the communities view. If this were the NHL and the success carried over to a 3-4-5 year period, they'd be on to something. In this world where your long rebuild leads to only potentially 1 3-4 month period for it to all come together it's a hell of a risk when you already know people won't support any rebuild like they will winning but the rebuild lasts 3x as long.

Unfortunately sounds like that's not going to happen, one of the posters on the french board is saying Couturier is trying to acquire 19 year olds to try for the cup this season because he has a mandate from Simon who wants the rink full. I thought he wanted to Host the Calder Cup in 2025 ? Who the hell knows what he wants anymore but I think it's pretty clear to anybody with a pulse that he doesn't know how to run a junior hockey franchise.

Komarov can't play in the AHL at 19, he was drafted in the NHL out of the QMJHL. The no players under 20 from the CHL rule applies to him. I think it could be a fair deal if CB returns the picks they received for Langlois. I don't see that as being Fair . It would have to be Komarov Plus . Komarov was better at 18 than Langlois was at 19.

Like it or not, Langlois didn't have quite the market we thought he may have heading into the season. If the return is a similar player, perhaps even an upgrade, the following season thats not so bad for a player nobody was going out of their way to overpay for.

I could see a pick going back to CB at the Christmas trade period or next June if Langlois comes back as an OA and Quebec trades him.

Especially if thats the cost for Komarov.

The fact that the two defensemen Roy decided to sit in the last game of the regular season to not risk injuries were Nico Savoie and Komarov tells you a lot about how valuable he thought he was for the Remparts heading into the playoffs. He has the total package, physical, very good defensively and offensively.

Is this Sly just expanding an already completed deal to make it even larger for the "big trade feel" of it all?

I had heard 04 Thomas Begin could be heading to Cape but I don't see him costing anything close to a 1st round pick - 2005 Emmanuel Vermette would be a better fit for this group ( wishful thinking )
