Chicoutimi reportedly holding onto Mann until after the NHL draft. But the Eagles are adding Thomas Begin this weekend. Not sure if it’s part of the deal that involved pick #8 or a separate deal.

I believe it is a separate deal - If Begin makes the Eagles roster then its a 2024 4th rounder heading to Chicoutimi. If I understand correctly anyway

Supposedly the final return for Bégin will be confirmed at training camp so they might be connected or might just be a regular training camp trade if they make the roster you get a pick. |

The spending to make the playoffs...bumps the 1st pick to 8....now moving down to 12 according to rumors with more vets coming who aren't even proven things.
Would not buying, finishing a few spots lower and adding the 5th/6th overall pick to a core with Lavoie and Shields really not have been the way to go? Think about how many assets have been used here to feel like we're still a long ways from taking that huge leap to contender...hopefully it all makes more sense by the end of the weekend.
Ultimately nobody really cares about 4th rounders. But the cascading effect of so many mediocre decisions are already making things more difficult then they need to be.

Jonathan Hudon who covers the Saguenéens confirmed in an article Thomas Bégin is a training camp loan to the Eagles so a trade will only be complete should he make the team out of camp.

I’ve heard they are trying to work out a deal with Gatineau looking to move a 20 year old to Cape - I think we can all make an educated guess as to who that may be
