Thiffault left the team and he might not be the last one from what I ear, something definitely wrong. Thifault has also been assigned to Valleyfield If Thifault left on his own, then so be it. But don't make it seem like there is more there.

The Sea Dogs are last place in the Eastern Conference and bottom 5 in the league, any team in that situation is making changes at Christmas. "Something definitely wrong" is just... with all due respect, it's a bad team trying to figure out how to be slightly less bad. Obviously, any team that goes all-in for the Memorial Cup like Saint John did is going to go through something similar. Is what it is.

Obviously, any team that goes all-in for the Memorial Cup like Saint John did is going to go through something similar. Is what it is. Saint John has 5 top 6 forwards and 4 more guys that definitely deserve to play every night. After that, there's a mess of bottom 6 guys where they can play centres who can win draws (Laforge, Pierre-Noel), physicality (Calder, Woods) or North-South effort (Benoit). Each of these guys can do a little of the other things, like Thifault, but he lacked consistency, was a step behind because of being hurt to start the year, and was arguably getting ice time over more deserving players.

Not speaking about Thifault specifically, but Saint John has a bunch of bottom 6 guys.
They will be pressured by the question of whether or not they are better than Lyons (if he would report) and O'Blenis.
There's also the possibility of a trade or FA.
If we move an import, we likely take an import back (since most of the teams needing imports have underachieving ones), so that doesn't open ice time. If Reynolds accepted a trade, we would likely bring in another OA FW (like Elliott in Drummondville). That leaves Reinhart and Elie as the only top 6 guys that we could move that wouldn't automatically bring a replacement back.

If SJ is building around the 07 group will they target players already drafted or will they go after draft picks and try and flip them later? It will be interesting to see who moves but the only two I think would be Renyolds and Tivey.

Where did they get BLB1? Nous Les Fans shows BLB having their 2024 1st round pick.

If they can get another first for a Reynolds or Tivey and maybe a second that goes a long way to start the rebuild around the 08 group.

If that's the case then it looks like Robinson will follow the trend of Auger and D'Orio and be the wrong age for the cycle. It would be great if one of these times we actually draft and develop a good goalie that he fit the cycle. If he continues on his path though he should bring in a good return when the time comes. That being said, I really hope if we move guys that we get some young prospects in return. Not just because of my previous point but to have some guys to watch for the remainder of the year. I'd also rather wait a year before unloading the 05 group, unless we get another offer too good to refuse like with Burridge. I think we could have an interesting team next season, at least for the first half.

I understand that Reynolds has a no trade clause and all things point to him not wanting to be traded as his sights are set on UNB and he's close to home now, girlfriend, and has already won a mem cup.
as for others, Mann has played like he did in Chicoutimi which was less than spectacular and will garner little to no interest. Dassylva has fallen off and is now a regular healthy scratch. Ianello was playing well but not sure of his status after he was rocked on Saturday. Tivey is a maybe. No way they trade Mateiko as they will get much more him next year after he is drafted this summer. Elle may very well go as he has been impressive this year but his off ice attitude (why he was benched Saturday in the 1st) may limit his possibilities. The new 20's are less than impressive and will not get any attention

I dont know what is going on with Dassylva but he's far from our worst D. I dont know why you are posting crap about what players do off-ice but I'm pretty sure I Elie play in the 1st vs RN
