Apparently you didnt watch the game, as he never played in the first and this is almost always a disciplinary thing. Nothing against Mann but open your eyes, he is the only NHL draft pick on the team and does he play the most minutes of any of the D??? NOPE. and he is typically on the 3rd paring. His game play is very telling.

Ellie did not play in the first vs RN. I was watching the game at work and they were talking about how he did not have a shift. I noticed yesterday that Tivey did not play any in the first. I don’t think it’s anything bad just maybe the coach was not happy about something. As for Mann I am not a big fan most times he rims the puck around the boards or flips it high in the air. I don’t think he was worth a 2nd and 3rd round pick for him.

In the past, guys have been benched for entire games (healthy scratches) for off-ice issues. If guys are dressed but benched for a portion of the game, it's been on-ice stuff.
Not saying that trend absolutely has to continue but that's generally how it's been. Maybe these were less serious off-ice issues than some of the past ones that resulted in players being healthy scratches.

Trade period could be very interesting in the maritimes. What will the team look like after trade period. If the team is wanting to build for another run they need to move the players that will get the most for.

We have 5 forwards who are contributing nicely to a top 6, we have 1 guy who probably doesn't fit, but is an excellent forward (and a swiss-army knife), we have some guys who bring something and are young, then we have opportunities up front. I would definitely like to see some different bodies up front (an O'Blenis recall could be one) as we work to get more opportunities for younger players as well as insulate them a little better. On D, I think we need to lose 1 or 2 guys, so we have ice time for guys like Richard and Amyot to play more minutes. Edit: if Lyons were willing to report, I could see something like: Simek - Reynolds - Elie/Reinhart Lyons - Beveridge - import Akkouche - O'Blenis - Bellemare Woods - Beaulieu - Calder Benoit Bilodeau - Gauthier Ianniello - Tivey/Mann Dassylva - Amyot Richard MacLean Leaver Robinson |

I would like to see Amyot, McLean and Richard’s all get more ice time. When they play 7 D the guy who is number 7 never gets into a rotation. It’s been McLean most of the year and Richard’s last game. It’s hard for anyone to know what they can do playing 6 min a night. I would keep both goalies to allow Robinson time to keep getting better and not take on the full load as the team could be weaker second half if trades happen that people think might. |

As I was typing this out, I realized that moving 2 D would honestly make more sense. Also, the lineup I made ignores the possibility that we add players in deals. |

I hope none of the players read this board as much as I doubt it is true. Everyone has given an honest effort, which is all you can ask for. Some will move on because they are traded to contenders and some won't be back because they and the team are not a fit for one reason or another. |

I dont think any of our top players get traded
Reinhart is 19 and is a bottom 6 on a contender his game doesnt fit that role he will be one our 20s next year.
Ellie is 18 and probably a 2.5 yr player unless its a Burbridge type offer he stays.
Simek is 18 and a good 2nd euro on most teams but unless a team pays a 1st he stays.
Maetenko is 18 and one of the top 3 euros in the league worth more next year when the mem cup is in the Q.
Reynolds no trade clause unb next year worth more to us if stays.
We have the Armada 1st and they dont pick until the 5th round and have some good young players i coud see a deal with them.

I was wondering how many moves would really happen. If you look around the league there are teams that have some really good 19yr olds that are also could be traded. Would it be a bad thing and keep our 19yr and maybe make a trade before drafts for one or two that won’t be around as a 20yr old. I would move Reynolds if you get what you are asking for but after that someone has to be willing to pay big for any of the 19yr olds
