Yes but for some reason his name isn't mentioned in the top 5 overages available he plays point on the pp kills penalties and seems to win more faceoffs then he loses and is a mem cup champion go figure. So do we have two 1sts in 2025 I know we have the Eagles from the Burbridge trade I cant find where we traded ours? Our 1st is with CB from the Trenholm deal

From what people who know more about hockey than me have told me, Miller is more of a top 6 potential guy whereas Bellemare projects as more of a 3rd liner.
Bellemare had shown some flashes that he might be more in the preseason, but they have not carried over into the regular season.
This seems like a solid trade (and a possible win-win in the long run).

A good start now add 2 or 3 high end 17 yr olds and we will be all set for 2025-2026

A good start now add 2 or 3 high end 17 yr olds and we will be all set for 2025-2026 We've added two guys with very good potential in Reynolds and Miller in the last couple of weeks. With no trades, we could have something like: Miller - Elie - X Reynolds - Beveridge - X Calder - Beaulieu - Beaudoin Bilodeau - X Amyot - Duhamel Richard - MacLean Robinson in 2 years (keeping in mind that this is based on potential, ignoring trades, etc and that I won't put Richard higher, even if he has higher potential due to having only played a couple of games so far this year)

Add the 2 high 1sts and probably 2 new 17 yr old euros and we have a solid foundation for a 2 year run in 25and 26.

Pretty quiet with trades and us probably taking a step back next year as we get younger I'll take a crack ar the 25-26 team.
Forwards Beveridge 18 Miller 19 Calder 19 Beaulieu 19 Reynolds 19 Ellie 20 New euro 18 New euro 18 24 1st rd pick 17 24 1st rd pick 17 20 yr old via trade Alexis Joseph after winning the draft lottery 16 Defense Amyot 18 Duhamel 18 Maclean 19 20 yr old via trade 20 yr old via trade Goaltenders Robinson 19 Labbe 19
Anyone else want to give it a shot

I agree it’s hard to predict ahead not sure Bilodeau or Elie will be here after the next draft or even after this Christmas break the only 2 18 year old with a good potential return outside of our Euro. I expect he'll be close to 2 PPG the rest of the season in Halifax.

The biggest winners of this trade might be Cape Breton who hold our 2024 1st round pick. Halifax was likely on a short list of teams that Reynolds would waive his NTC for. If this deal doesn't happen, there's a decent chance Reynolds stays and we finish as a mid pack team.

It's early days, but I wonder if SJ tries something like: Mateiko - Elie - Reinhart Simek - Beveridge - Fournier

Best of luck Pete one of my favorite players the last 3 years. That gives us 6 1st round picks in the next 3 years. I think we will have a lottery pick with Gatineau pick I dont think we will fall that far so Cape Breton gets a lottery pick.
