He has pretty underwhelming stats in a somewhat lower calibre league. Maybe Warren has asked for a trade ? Only thing that makes sense imo Cedar Rapids has been pretty brutal last year and so far this year. A goalie's stats are well tied to a team's performance. Steinman is very good, but he has had a team playing very good in front of him Hopefully the scouts are right and he would be an upgrade on Warren and Warren can be a starter on another squad this year as I'm a big fan of his play and his energy

I'm also a fan of Keegan Warren but in a go for year you need 2 strong goalies , it was reported he was injured, doesn't appear to be playing as well as last season , but small sample size.
So far the new GM and Coach have made some pretty good player moves that have improved the team. In a QMJHL host city Memorial Cup year they seem to have a plan , and they are not scared to make moves right away, before another team does.

I'm not knowledgeable on all the specifics but can he be sent down to an affliate , where he can get back to his game form without the pressure ? I would like to see Moncton give him another chance next year if he is moved/replaced this season

I would like to see Moncton give him another chance next year if he is moved/replaced this season I believe for Warren to be sent to an affiliate Junior A (the Yarmouth Mariners have his Junior A rights), he would have to go through CHL waivers. He's 19 now; is he a 20 year old overage Major Junior goalie next year? Depends on where he ends up (if claimed/traded); on a rebuilding team, maybe; or a contender, probably not. He'd have to be a starter as teams don't use a overage spot on a backup goalie. I saw him play here with the Mariners a couple of years ago; great kid; I hope things work out for him.

Roster tonight shows Farrah as backup and Warren injured I wonder if his hips just aren’t there and he’s been playing thru the pain and it’s been getting worse hence the potential of this Guimond coming up and it only being in the works for about a week

If that were the case, couldn't they potentially shut him down for the season and then just keeps his rights?

Ryan Hackett is on the roster again. He’s a healthy scratch today. He appears to be playing for Miramichi tonight so not sure what the plan is there or if it’s a site error

Something I never thought of with this change was the potential to cheer on Wildcats alumni in NCAA hockey. I have zero attachments to NCAA hockey currently so I dont bother following it, but this could certainly help.
