Vincent Collard invited to Montreal’s rookie camp. Also, I’m hearing he could be invited to Hockey Canada’s U20 camp this summer. Confirmed: Vincent Collard will attend Canada’s U20 Summer Showcase Camp. He will be joined by Etienne Morin and Dylan MacKinnon. Desnoyers will attend U18 camp. No surprise with Morin (And Desnoyers for U18). A bit of a pleasant surprise with Collard. Undrafted going into his 19 y/o season at slightly less than a PPG. Has he been to any Hockey Canada camps before? U17? Don't get me wrong I do like him and I think he could be a 35-40 goals/80pt player this year but just did not think he would be on Hockey Canada's radar. I would have thought they would invite Desnoyers for U20 before Collard

One of the things I'm most excited about this season is watching Desnoyers progression, especially under a coach like Gardiner and with the experience hes getting internationally. It would be special to see the if Wildcats could finally produce a top 10 NHL pick, some mock drafts have him just outside that right now.

If he was OHL or WHL he would already be considered for top 5. They think only one way skill guys come from the Q like 30 years ago.

That trade was rumoured to go down at the draft. Heard about it on the Saturday morning. I noticed a handshake between Taylor MacDougall and Gordie Dwyer before the 2nd round started. Wondered what it was all about. Taylor walked away with big smile on his face.

Wow. Considering I was wondering if they'd have to move a 1st for Mateiko this is a great trade.

Does that mean they have to drop the 2nd round Euro pick or can they still put him on the special list once the season starts?

Does that mean they have to drop the 2nd round Euro pick or can they still put him on the special list once the season starts? It depends on when the trade goes through I believe. If it goes through today, they have to drop him (because they can't declare him a no-show until camp begins).

He was well over a PPG in the USHL last year, but seems to be much more of a playmaker than a scorer. Hopefully this year the system under MacDougall is more than just "feed it to Loshing at all costs".
He should be one of the top euros in the league I would think. I like that he is a 2005 as well. To get a 3rd rd NHL talent for a 3rd is great value, although I'm sure there were limited options for the Titan.

I guess it's a 3rd for his rights and if he shows which it looks like it's a lock he shows there's more to it.
