Now moncton just needs a solid faceoff/shutdown guy , not sure of what the options are , but Sumpf looks like he will be centering the 3rd line now.

I think Moncton’s top 9 is either the best in the league or close to it. In no order: Loshing-Desnoyers-Collard Pekarcik-Vidicek-Lounsbury Smith-Sumpf-Mercier They’ll have to figure out the lines, but that’s a scary line-up

Wait! This is fake news! Moncton was trading for Mateiko that was set in stone. Love it! Great move 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. The real question is what is the full trade once all said and done?

Be a big move a first plus for sure he will be a 80pt guy for them I wouldn’t count on that. If it were that it would have been done that way all ready. My guess would either a 20yo or one of AFG or Grenier.

Are we happy about this over Mateiko? My own opinion (Without knowing the end details of the deal) is yes, he has proven in the USHL and is an awesome add for a Euro spot
Should we wait until Christmas to upgrade on D? I think we are set on Forward unless someone young really underperforms and wants a trade in which we can plug holes with vets for a long run
If we do have Kiviharju's rights next year and willing to report (I don't think likely unless he has a subpar season this year), should we be also be stockpiling for a run next year also or going all in now?

My guess would either a 20yo or one of AFG or Grenier. I’m probably biased as a Moncton fan, but I agree. I don’t see it being a first plus - I think it will be finished at the draft because Moncton is sending a player. I think you may have nailed it with AFG or a 20, but I’ll add in Smith as a potential player too. Leaning towards a 20 because Moncton will have a bunch of high calibre ones coming back. I think Moncton may have gotten him cheaper than what he’s worth for 2 main reasons: 1) Euros are always cheaper, 2) he said he wasn’t reporting to Bathurst and had options to keep playing the USHL or another league. I think it’s a win-win for both teams.

I think Moncton is set on D for right now , as well as the forward group especially if Juraj Pekarcik reports, go with Steinman and Warren in nets and see where the Cats are at, late oct early november, I think Moncton also has some good depth in their system , both in Dmen and forwards.
If they don't do any more major trades , they should be a good group next season as well.
Might even buy a season ticket this season, definitely getting the playoff package !
Go Cats

Go Cats He's already in Moncton. They have a video of him in the locker room. There shouldn't be any doubt he is reporting.

I don't really see the room on the roster and they actually already have some strong faceoff guys. Collard was typically sent out last season when they needed to win a faceoff. Collard - 57% Vidicek - 54.6% Desnoyers - 54%

Eliott Robert has been added to Moncton's preseason roster on the Q site. 55 career Q games with Chicoutimi. Played last season with the Miramichi Timberwolves.

That trade was rumoured to go down at the draft. Heard about it on the Saturday morning. I noticed a handshake between Taylor MacDougall and Gordie Dwyer before the 2nd round started. Wondered what it was all about. Taylor walked away with big smile on his face. Reading AN, it sounds like the 3rd for 3rd swap done at the draft was part 1, Thursday is part 2 and the draft is part 3 with the equivalent of a first going back

Anyone know when the wildcats training camp opens? I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere and seems like other teams are announcing that now.
Also, any word on free agents that they’re adding. I remember MacDougall mentioning in an interview with AN that they’d be adding some a while ago, but nothing really came from it (it was after they added the local and Quebec kids). I know that they don’t have much room on the roster so aren’t a desirable destination for free agents, but seems weird that they mentioned it and nothing has seemingly come from it.
