OJHL is a Jr. A league. Pretty decent offense output in a small sample, but he didn’t have a lot of points in their playoffs. We will see what he can bring as a big, strong 19 y/o player. Attitude cast off ? His numbers are good, especially in Barrie U18AAA. I wouldn't put much stock into u18 numbers. A lot of the best players from his age group were already playing jr. I don't know anything about him but seeing that he was under ppg for a jr b league at 18 tells me he wasn't brought here to score any points.

When I was growing up in ontario Leamington was a jr b team. I just looked it up and seen they switched leagues last year. My apologies.

I like Hughes as much as any fan he seems like a great kid and I hope he stays and has a great season but I hate the whole we need to draft or trade this player because he’s a local also there’s no chance Hughes is captain there’s one obvious choice for captain and it’s Mr. Kearsey I suspect he'll be an Alternate. Kearsey Captain for sure My prediction C-kearsey A-Topilnyckyj A-Butler A-Michaud

He has a great, hardworking mindset. He shows leadership qualities, but yes, it's hard to argue against Kearsey, especially after Jim said in an interview last year that he is the "future captain of this team."

I double checked when looking it up. There are a lot of teams in the OJHL. Then there are a lot of Jr. B leagues in the province and they always seem to be trying to get their designation changed to Jr. A. The CCHL is a different, but a very strong Jr. A league up around the Ottawa area. Kyle Powers and Giovanni Morneau both played in this league before successfully jumping to the QMJHL with us Will be curious to see what sort of an impact Leek has. OJHL is a Jr. A league. So you can have 4 OAs on ur roster but just cant dress 4 is that what it is? I think so! I can't imagine this is a long term thing since you can trade the 20's at any point, I am wondering if one will be moved before or during the trade deadline. Lots of debate on whether Hughes will be moved in here. I think it's definitely possible we could package him up and get something for him during the trade window, especially if he has a better start. We shall see!

With good first 1/2's you can get a decent return for Ruccia and Hughes. Ruccia could emerge as the best goalie and a big winger who can score helps any team down the stretch. Not sure how they can all reach their potential in and out of the lineup though

Safe to say that Hughes is safe for now and has his spot interesting all Atlantic Canadians serving as captains. Here a question I wonder is maybe Guirionov is the odd man out maybe it’s his choice he hasn’t played a whole lot this pre season

Captain Kearsey has been released from Detroit and should be in the lineup for the Isles next game.

When you have very little draft stock like the Islanders it also really hurts when your GM fumbles the euro picks like he has the last 2 or 3 years. The last 2 drafts we were in a position to draft good euros and fumble every pick. Voyaga is ok but not what a euro should be hes just a depth D man on a bad team. If Radovoivjc is a no show after the Maruna failed pick it’s time to start wondering if the staff are actually doing their job. I’ve been a Hulton supporter for his whole tenure but at the end of the day this is year 3 of his rebuild and we have no picks and very little as far as assets to make us better.. I thought this team would be decent this year but this could be the worst season yet. When does Hulton get out on the hot seat?
