Madden Steen looked very poised as a 20 year old invite with extensive OHL experience. His possible addition would certainly put Duguay and Hughes on the roster bubble. Steen, Stumpf and Caines stood out for new guys. Herron and Masi looked good for 16 year olds. Was there yesterday for both games missed Sunday night this is what I saw : Standouts : Kearsey Conrad Gourinov Caines Stumpf Plamondon Steen Valente Yuzik Shields Butler Powers Smith 08 Draft pick standouts .. reason I went to watch : Herron - Best 08 on ice in my opinion was very noticeable plays center position very well they put him with Pouliot and Yuzik made those guys look good cause they are slow. He’s tough on puck brings in puck with ease. Bad news is he signed commitment with Maine so … he’s prob gone today and won’t see him anymore and maybe we sign him next year. Goupil - Big man never seen him play before looked comfortable out there not ready yet but great pick at 3. I’m sure he can play here next year. Was comfortable playing with our best . Masi - Great speed at 16 already Q level speed, made things happen when had puck good passing and vision was playing on bad line not sure why they didn’t give him anything to work with like the other 08’s? Was impressed by his complete game in all zones. Needs to toughen up along the walls this year but really liked him can play top 6 for sure. Talk in rink seems like he’s not staying past 48 hours, has NCAA options and we not giving him contract so till next year we hope . We need to keep this man Great pick ! Pouliot - Big man, they put him with Herron and Yuzik which helped his game for sure. This kid shoots the puck and finds open space took advantage of playing with Herron had good scoring chances. Needs to work on his skating he doesn’t skate well and looks lazy at times because he’s not moving. Will need another year in M18 and work on those things for sure before thinking of Q if he gets that going he can score a lot of goals for us. Rogerson- impressed me great speed had some good flashes at times hard working man. Not very big but plays tough he can be something for us in the future. As someone who couldn’t get out to the games, I appreciate the rundown. Will today be the day that NCAA kids would leave and the first set of cuts would occur?

I expect we will see a release today indicating some players who have been cut or have left camp…..and probably a lineup for tonight’s game.

He was just fair physically playing against 150 pounds 16-17 year olds, a 20 year old should be dominant against those guys. Does not make a great first past either and with very slow feet. Gurionov looked ok, excited to see Hughes, word around rink is he looks to have gotten bigger and stronger. Sumpf impressed me a lot as well as Herron. Owen Conrad looks to have improved skating as well.

In one of the post draft interviews I think Jim Hulton talked about Herron having family connections on PEI. I wonder if they will make it a "family vacation" and he might stick around. Don't expect to see an American guy playing exhibition games, but I guess you never know? Herron still here…paying his own way or does he forego his NCAA commitment?

Would make a lot of sense…if he’s going to be on the Island anyways, might as well stick around. Get some ice time, and make sure that the NCAA route will be for him…makes it easier rather than having to make your mind after 48 hours

They are not in the lineup tonight I would imagine.

He did yes…very talented athlete. Heard he had planned to play NCAA baseball in the States but decided on hockey instead when he got the call from the Islanders
