I don’t think Tivey will want to be traded and the organization will probably give him the chance to finish his junior career here unless someone gives a 1st rounder and I doubt that any team will do, for Mateiko I don’t think we have a choice he will give us a decent return and anyway won’t be back next year. Peddle- I would keep him he will be an excellent OA next year we will still need dome good veterans to mix up with our young players. Bilodeau I think he’s ahead of Perron/Clemens he accumulated almost more points in his first season then they both had in all 3 seasons they played I think he would be a very good addition to any team but will Crickard tend to keep him also for next season. Gravel will most likely be traded again I would only do it if the price is right. I see Mateiko and Tivey being moved either way (because they should have very good value). The rest depend on what people are willing to pay and what else is available. Peddle is one of the better non-OA forwards available and is a potential 1.5 year guy (Lavigne and Larose are the only similar or better non-OA forwards I see that would be available). Bilodeau could be one of the better non-OA D available (but this one hinges heavily on Bathurst not selling, because Perron/Clements would jump in above him in the market). Gravel could be available, but there are only a couple of teams that could use an OA goalie (Rimouski, BLB, possibly RN) with only Riki being a potential motivated buyer. Barring something crazy, I don't see a team offering anything for Mann that we would want. SJ cannot sell off too much, so some backfill would have to be acquired. Also, on the tinkering side, I could see guys the entire depth portion being potentially available (I think SJ could replace 1 FW internally from this group, but I wouldn't be comfortable replacing any of our D internally unless we are signing FA)

His intention? Keep his eligibility and, later, join Union College in the NCAA. But while waiting for the university level, the son of former professional goaltender Jean-François Labbé can now join the Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League, he who acted as second fiddle with his team from the Vancouver area. And with the Saint John Sea Dogs already counting on Charles-Édward Gravel and Justin Robinson in net, Kyan Labbé doesn't think he'll get the chance to prove himself in Saint John, in his rookie season, behind the two veteran goaltenders. "I'm going to join the first team that wants me," he says, adding that it's nothing against the Maritimes and the Sea Dogs. Gravel was acquired through a trade at the age of 20 while Robinson is the second goalie at 18. Which explains the request of Labbé, who simply hopes to have his share of playing time with a QMJHL team, which would have needs in net to fill. The transaction can be made at any time, since Kyan Labbé is not yet registered with an educational institution related to a QMJHL program.

I don't know if either side is willing to do it, but it wouldn't be a bad idea for Labbe to come to SJ and practice with the team for the next bit (with the possibility that he plays) with the understanding that the team will either make a spot for him or move him once the window opens. There are likely more possible destinations then (and the possibility that SJ becomes one of them).

Given that Gravel is likely on the trade market, would it make sense for Labbe to join the Sea Dogs lineup after Christmas? It seems like the obvious choice, provided he’s interested in playing here. It feels like a good fit.
This move would also give us a clearer picture of what the goaltending duo would look like heading into next season.

It could depending on the team's appetite for running with Robinson. The thing about my idea about Labbe coming here is that it would only be for 3 weeks (before the window opens) but would give SJ better information on whether running with Robinson/Labbe would work.

Labbe to Rouyn may make some sense, they need a goalie, but they'd be running with 2 inexperienced guys.

He clearly wants to come in and play games immediately, but I’m not sure that opportunity is there with Gravel starting most games and Robinson needing more starts as it is. Never say never, I think the trade request makes it very unlikely

A couple of things in the next few weeks.
1) If Lawrence has any interest in playing in the Q (but will only report to a Maritimes team), then SJ needs to be working hard on an offer to Chicoutimi.
2) I would really like to see them try to bring Dylan Krayer (Matthew's big brother) in (possibly sign both).
