Eagles should not be team captain (giving him an A might work) and Eagles should not be on the bubble... and I don't think I've ever heard of a 19 year old three year returning veteran being "caught in the numbers game".

I'm glad I don't have to make the choices on forward. There is going to be painful decisions made in the next couple of weeks. As for certain players making it, I still say Brenton will be there he is only 18.With alot of average 19 year olds Ithink they will make room for as many 18 year olds as they can. This is not a year to go for it.We are going to have to suck it up this year I think

Didn't Halifax have a couple just last year? Albeit they waited to mid-season to dump them ...

I just caught the third period of the 5 o'clock game so I don't want to jump to any conclusions but here's some observations:
Just like for the rookie camp, Barberio is the player that impressed me the most. I still can't get over how much more confident he is than last year and that's not to say that he wasn't confident last year. He just really takes charge of the play every shift. He seems to play a lot like Andrew McDonald did which is not a surprise cause he was his partner last season. He also didn't seem shy to shoot the puck from the point which McDonald drove me crazy with.
I noticed how Dimitruk had above average passing during the rookie camp, but today, he made a few lazy saucer passes which he'll have to drop before the regular season, but I'm sure he'll adjust fast enough.
Baca looks more agressive than Bartulis was. He got the shoulder and possibly the elbow up on Cameron I think it was on a 1 on 1 which got a good cheer from the crowd.
Gomes still seems like he's an experienced junior defenceman, even against the veterans and I would take him over Goyens anyday and maybe Tolles. He makes everything look effortless. But then again I'd take furball over Goyens. That guy is just in over his head way too much.
On the forward side, it's more the story of who dissapointed me than who impressed me. A lot of players seemed disinterested, especially Brannon which was a dissapointment cause he was one of the players I was most looking forward to see. Maybe he's just taking it easy before his rookie camp with Detroit to avoid injury.
Brenton seems a little more explosive than last year but he still couldn't capitalize on his chances which plagued him for almost the entire season last year. I'd say he's on his way out.
Lincourt looks a lot more interested than he was last year and it seems like he really wants one of those 20 yr old spots. That shootout goal he scored was an absolute beauty. I'd take him over Mangan easily.
Sill doesn't seem as dominant against the veterans as against the rookies where he was the best overall forward but he'll still make a good checking center. There'll probably be a short adjustment with him seeing as he's already played NCAA.
I noticed Brown a lot more against the veterans than against the rookies which is great. Maybe it just took him some time to gain confidence or maybe get into shape. He created a couple chances and drove the net.

Anyone know wtf Kelan Herr is doing? This morning he would punch and slash Eagles and Marquardt after every play. Tonight it was much of the same except this time they didn't put up with it. Eagles stood up to him then there was pushing and shoving and Marquardt came in to defend him. Then Herr high sticks someone in the face(not sure who) Later on he hits Marquardt from behind. It's getting out of hand, get him out of here. This morning I said to my buddy that he was gonna hurt someone and sure enough, he did tonight. Don't let the door hit you on your way out Kelan. EDITED:The rating of my post has gone from PG to G.

A little bit of crazy is sometimes good for the team........someone playing on the edge in camp might just turn into a valuable asset once the season starts .....as in protecting the same players you think he might hurt now..........but since I have not seen any practices I am sure there must be someone more passive there that will do the job...right?

Usually under 2 hours. Well worth it Lirette. I have seen all of them and they get better each day. It helps that today was the first ones with a lot of vets. Either way it's fun hockey to watch.

I didnt see this mornings game but i did catch tonights game so i'll comment on tonights game.
Baca what can i say this kid is going to be a very good dmen, great positioning and very strong, nice hit on Cameron. Barbs another great game and he is only 17. Gomes I didnt like this kid in the rookie camp but he didnt look to bad out there with the vets tonight i think he is going to make the team. Tolles is trying to do to much Dimitruk didnt look as confident out there with the vets but he'll be fine, i hope he stays. Blain nothing he seems to do is to fancy but everytime i would be like nice job look at my lineup card and see the number 20 its Blain again. Lincourt looks a little more interested this year. He had some nice rushes down the wing and the shootout goal what a beauty. Made Flynn can get the best out of Lincourt.
Herr what the hell is this guy up to! Send him home before he hurts someone.
Tayler man i laughed at first when i seen they added this kid to camp but he made quite the impression in his first game. Really quick down low reminds me of Q goalie. Too bad he blew it in the shootout though i felt bad for him.

Tayler impressed me...He is some quick...Did a really good job controling his rebounds and took a wicket shot in the wrist....I think he has alot of talent...Just didn;t have the confidence in the shootout..I think they need to take a really good look at this kid..He's only 17...

I think that part of Lincourts motivation is probably the FA invite to Chi rookie camp. I think it may have renewed his passion and interest in the game. "Maybe if I work hard and improve I can get a FA tryout." Torchetti obviously saw something in him to bring him to Moncton and Chi. I think that is a very good combination for us this year. Thats why I think he should be one of our 20's.
