I heard rumblings of a "Goalie involved" blockbuster trade at the rink yesterday...though i couldn't get the details...Probably just rink rats talking but I thought it was interesting since there have been almost zero rumors from any camp...except SJ looking for a "100pt vet"....anyways I'm not making presumptions but it did catch my attention

I don't see them keeping 8 d-men...7 at the max...Lamoureux can bail them out if injuries hit. #7 will be an 18 year old, preferably 17 with potential. The 19 year olds are battling for 1 maybe 2 spots, that includes Tolles Gomes Goyens Eastman or adding one via trade or waivers. Eastman isn't battling for anything, he's gone. Also this morning I found Gomes had a good game and Goyens seems to have stepped it up from last year, good to see. Lincourt looked pretty decent out there at times. I know this is just training camp but after a few games I have a feeling we're going to have a tough time putting the puck in the net. We're going to get A LOT of chances but we don't seem to have a sure fire goal scorer(Ala Goulet) someone that will consistently cash in on the good chances he gets. These goalies aren't amazing but it seems like the players are missing the net or hitting the goalie on the chest or something. Once again, I know they'll get better just a scary feeling I'm getting... My understanding is that Eastman was hurt on the first day of scrimmages and hasn't played since. I have not heard that he has gone home and his name still appears on the roster on the Wildcats website while players that have been officially cut do not appear. Where does your information come from ?

I guess I'll join the crowd that says it will create a disaster next year when we really are going for it. But then again we got Trodjman in that year with a trade and Halifax will need to get two goaltenders very soon as well. I don't know. For sure Riopel hasn't been Mem Cup tested and it might be by design to get a 20 year old that will get the job done. Quebec did it, we did it, Halifax will need to do it ..... ? Why does Halifax need to get two goaltenders? Are they going with a 2-2-2 lineup? (2 forwards, 2 D, and 2 Goalies)? Who's going to be the backup? Please don't say Yetman and embarrass yourself.

Not ahhh the mind of the less intelligent at work. Yetman who only played 1/2 a season so far, out played both Riopel and Sniderman in the playoffs, yet Halifax would be embarrassed to have him as a backup. That doesn't say much for the goalie prospects Moncton have to be their #1.

Moncton got above average goaltending last year during the season, Halifax got subpar goaltending except when Duchesne was there(and he did not have a great 1st half).

I doubt the 2 teams only played 1 meaningful game last year. Riopel had a much better year and he has more upside than Yetman. Yetman has a terrible technical base and he is already 19, it will be hard for him to improve by a lot.

I dont think Yetman is better than Riopel or has more upside...but he outplayed Rio in the playoffs, when the games were the most important. Yetman seems to get a raw deal on these boards, hes got some upside still. The Mooseheads kind of fucked him up by not playing him at 17. Yetman only has 20 Q games under his belt...in my opinion he has a lot more room to grow. You saw his game develop greatly from January to April.

Wait a minute I apparently don't make much sense but I'll tell you this in the simplest terms I can. Its not about Rio vs Yetman, its about making a legitimate run at the cup and Yetman isn't up to the job of even the backup. His numbers proved that period. So if you want to be this years VD or CB then be my quest but you have one year and its going to cost you to make it legitimate. If you have any brains and I'm not sure when you are defending Yetman, you will acquire a legit backup maybe starter.

Why would they want to be VD or CB when they can be Lewiston and win the championship? You must be new school Moncton, us old school Moncton guys want championships, not 2nd,3rd or 4th. If you're not first, you're last!

Your logic basically says Halifax wont win the Prez Cup because Yetman is the BACK UP....you know how stupid that sounds?? RIIIIIGHT. What if Roberto Luongo was the #1? Going by your logic Halifax still wouldnt win because Yetman is the back up.

Duchesne's numbers with Halifax last year were not a whole lot different then Yetman's numbers. Sniderman and Riopel played behind a much more defensive team and Yetman had a young D group in front of him made up of 17 and 18 year olds. I don't know how Sniderman had a better season then Yetman or makes the comment of above average vs. sub par a reality. Yetman had better numbers, a better record and took the playoff series... again behind a young team. Riopel's were a little better.
These boards have grown the idea that Halifax's goaltending was completely horrible where the reality is that it was around average with Yetman... and got better as time went on.
