Like Catnut said, the way the father is talking, this seems much more personal and familly oriented then simply a "toughness factor".
If anything goes bad, I hope for the kid that it gets better quickly, and if it's simply his father not wanting him to play in Moncton (which is what this story absolutely does not sound like), then this decision doesn't make that much sense to me.
If it is something to do with the familly and something serious, I hope Neil Hodge will be manly enough to apologize to Dimitruk and his family. I have not liked the way his articles have been formed since day one of this "mini saga".

I get the same feeling from the comments the father made as well as Flynn...I think if it was a toughness issue, I think he father would stand up and say..it was not the right fit for our son.. Either way I wish him luck here as a wildcat or else where...

Boyle is huge then ... 11'10" ... 410 lb ... why is he playing hockey ? Both fighters are trained as boxers and I believe Smearer was brought in to the Titan camp to tryout for the enforcer role. Do you think Herr is better ? I've watched Herr fight a handful of times now ... this year and last year ... and he gets "killed" more often than not ... unless he picks on a 17 yr old. At least Boyle is a year younger and has the skill to take a regular shift ... being drafted for his hockey skills. You wouldn't know a good fighter if he come along and slapped you obviously. "Trained as a Boxer" spare me. When the Wildcats get one I'll let you know ... as it is now we have nobody ... just a designated punching bag in Herr ... who has to bump a skill player out of the lineup to be able to get the snot beat out of him. Are you disagreeing that Boyle was trained as a boxer ... or are you simply suggesting it makes no difference ?

You have to take Dimitruk's word as truth until you know otherwise. There's Cancer and all kinds of things that enter into a family that change your situation overnight. It also can affect you for at least a year if not longer. If a close family member is affected then its where he has to be and we don't have to know all the details.

The Wildcats have no Fighter and secondly Boxing is much different than Fighting. Fighting is in your blood.

Boyle does not want the fighter role he just wants to make a case for a spot on the team from not playing all last year.Thru time he should regain more skill but for now he adds grit that appears to be lacking. (other then the last game)

He may not want the fighter role, but if Flynn knows that he will drop the gloves if needed then that certainly gives him more value..

Maybe Neil Hodge and the rest of us could take a lesson from Flynn's comments in the paper today on this issue. Respect their decision and wait. For Hodge to suggest the story has become a "circus" appears to be grossly unfair and sounds like journalistic sensationalism. A "cloud of secrecy"...come on...since when do we have a right to know every personal detail about someone. The family chose Moncton for hockey from a lot of options. I think they deserve a little more respect.

It is all a crock of shit... I think it is time that Dimitruk or his Father or whoever they chose to act as their rep. to stand up and say what is going on. If there is a family issue that is stopping him from being able to fullfill his obligations (he did sign) or has he changed his mind and has no intentions of fullfilling his obligation. If it is a family issue.. well I think we can all respect that... and let it all play out. If it is a change of mind on his hockey future and where he will play.. well then we have the right to question what the hell is going on and get the answers. ..Oh Neil Hodge well.. you all know that he usually has his head up his ass or is cutting and pasting his articles..so I dont put too much into anything he says

Money cannot buy everything.... I think the Titan proved that in their Memorial Cup appearance.

Money cannot buy everything.... I think the Titan proved that in their Memorial Cup appearance. Totally irrelevant! in this case, Dimitruk was promised to be taken care of and obviously the family and Dimitruk are not satisfied and are backing off.

Totally irrelevant! in this case, Dimitruk was promised to be taken care of and obviously the family and Dimitruk are not satisfied and are backing off. ... or it could be something completely different that you have no knowledge of... I believe that may have happened once or twice before. For the record, I'd love to know why everyone is getting their panties in a knot over this whole case? Being a fairly private guy myself, I for one can respect the wishes of the family, if you are to assume it is a family related - and thereby personal - issue at hand. I'm sure it's not like we'll NEVER know.. I mean, something has to happen at some point. For now, he's gone... let's focus on the continuation of developing the talent we have left in camp... and Kelan Herr.
